Now that BREAKING BAD, AMC's highly-acclaimed drug-running drama, is coming to a close, network execs are reportedly not so keen on letting the source material die.
According to Deadline, AMC is exploring developing a spin-off of the series, potentially lead by Bob Odenkirk. The supporting actor is best known for playing smarmy criminal lawyer Saul Goodman on BAD - a.k.a the only source of comic relief on the show.
The project - what's being billed as a potentia comedy - is in the Early Stages, with creator Vince Gilligan on board with Peter Gould, the writer who conceived fan-favorite Goodman. Deadline reports the duo are toying with both one-hour and half-hour formats.

The final eight-episode season of Breaking Bad kicks off July 14 on AMC.
BREAKING BAD follows protagonist Walter White (Bryan Cranston), a chemistry teacher who lives in New Mexico with his wife (Anna Gunn) and teenage son (RJ Mitte) who has cerebral palsy. White is diagnosed with Stage III cancer and given a prognosis of two years left to live.
With a new sense of fearlessness based on his medical prognosis, and a desire to secure his family's financial security, White chooses to enter a dangerous world of drugs and crime and ascends to power in this world. The series explores how a fatal diagnosis such as White's releases a typical man from the daily concerns and constraints of normal society and follows his transformation from mild family man to a kingpin of the drug trade.
