The New York Times has revealed that GLEE star and Broadway baby Lea Michele has earned a Billboard 'Triple Threat' Award. Michele will receive the honor tomorrow, December 2, at the Women in Music luncheon in New York City. The lunch will specifically honor The Black Eyed Peas' Fergie.
Says Michele of the Billboard recognition in the Times: "We worked so hard over here at 'Glee' and we put together these mini-movies every week that is filled with dancing and singing...It feels like such a nice sort of wonderful recognition."
Despite the commercial success of the GLEE cast albums, Michele has no immediate plans to put out her own disc, although she suggests that such a project is in her future.
For her work on GLEE, Michele was honored this year with a Golden Globe nomination for Best Television Actress - Comedy or Musical and an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series. Michele was also recently nominated for a 2010 Teen Choice Award for Choice TV Actress: Comedy. In 2009, she was nominated in the Choice TV: Breakout Star Female category.
