According to The Hollywood Reporter, Armie Hammer, Ben Kingsley and John Malkovich will join the cast of the upcoming film CUT BANK.
The crime thriller is penned by Roberto Patino and centers on a young auto mechanic who is eager to get out of the town where he was born, Cut Bank, Montana. His attempts "set in motion a series of events that wil change his life, and the life of Cut Bank, forever," according to an announcement released Tuesday.
CUT BANK will mark the film directorial debut for television director Matt Shakman (Mad Men, Six Feet Under). Said Shankman, "Cut Bank is a clever morality tale, a visceral thriller, and ultimately a surprising story of redemption. John Ford by way of David Fincher. [It] offers a director's dream - a great visual world and a brilliant collection of characters to populate it."
Edward Zwick (Shakespeare in Love, Traffic), Mickey Barold and Dan Cohen will produce. Production is set to begin filming this fall.
Hammer is currently shooting The Lone Ranger opposite Johnny Depp. Kingsley will soon be seen in Sacha Baron Cohen's The Dictator, playing the titular tyrant's security chief.
