Created 7 years ago by
Dubliner Stephen O'Regan, BalconyTV's regional teams scour the globe for the most exciting underground artists and tape them performing a single song live. The site posts fifty performances a week, 2500 annually from over fifty different cities on six continents. Balcony TV has recorded over 10,000 original performances that have garnered over 45,000,000 worldwide views. Among those early acts are Mumford & Sons, The Script, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, Matisyahu, Jessie J, Temper Trapand Ed Sheeran
-all recorded when they were unknowns.
BalconyTV began in Dublin, Ireland in 2006 when three friends decided the only thing that could make their evening on the balcony better was live music. A few days later with one video camera, a microphone and a musician friend they posted the first show on YouTube thus creating BalconyTV. Shortly after, with a more refined production sense, the team invited local bands and individual performers to their balcony. Before long, bands from all over the world were contacting BalconyTV to get on the balcony and play.
