There are four episodes left in season one of GOTHAM and tonight it's back for "Beasts of Prey." The episode takes us down several paths, including a cold case involving a serial killer is resurrected by Gordon and Bullock. Selina "Cat" Kyle joins with Bruce Wayne on their own investigation and tracks down Alfred's old service buddy (and Wayne Industries hired goon) Reggie. On the isolated island prison/body farm of Dr. Francis "Dollmaker" Dulmacher, Fish Mooney strategizes her escape.

Several story threads are tying up while others are still being strung along, so let's see how the cookie crumbles tonight. Updating LIVE starting tonight at 8 pm Eastern.

Opening: At the island prison/body part farm, Fish plans her escape even as she struts around as one of the Dollmaker's new assistants. She break out of the mansion and walks towards a helicopter only to be stopped by "the Catcher" who makes sure no one escapes. Over at Wayne Manor, Bruce is welcoming Jim and chatting about Alfred's recovery. Gordon suspects they lied about who stabbed the butler, Bruce stays cagey since he wants to find Reggie himself. Gordon is worried Bruce will get into deep trouble. At the Gotham City Police Department, a uniformed officer brings to Jim's attention a cold case that was particularly nasty. Jim says he will look into it. Gordon stops by the forensics lab to pick up Dr. Thompkins for a date but she is interested in the murder of the young lady in her neighborhood, where there are still speakeasys. Back at the island dungeon, Fish shares her escape plan with one of the other inmates.

So new president of the Gotham Police Union, Jim Gordon - and presumably Bullock - will be investigating a grisly murder, while young Bruce will be pursuing his own investigation of Alfred's stabbing.

8:12 pm: Alfred is carefully getting around Wayne Manor and plans on leaving the mansion to find Reggie. Bruce insists on going along just as Alfred's wound starts bleeding.

Oswald is attempting to get a formidable Italian restaurant owner to sell her place. "Mamma" asks for help getting her daughter to ditch a guitar player and she will consider selling. At the station, Gordon tries to convince Bullock to work on the cold case with him. Nygma brings them some key information on the Fairchild murder case.

Mooney has outlined her breakout plan with some of the hardened criminal types without whom she cannot escape. She will get the keys to a boat if they are in. Bullock reluctantly joins Gordon looking in to some of the speakeasys, gathering information, learning the murder victim had a handsome man as a companion. The guy told his date he was looking for a girl and unconditional love. In a flashback, Miss Fairchild and her devlish date arriving at his studio apartment and get a glimpse of his "Shades of Grey"-like BDSM toys. (Cheese Alert!)

Let me guess: his idea of unconditional love extends to taking the pain with the pleasure and he's just a guy who can't say yes to a safe word. Has GOTHAM jumped the shark?

8:24 pm: Alfred is finally resting as Bruce sneaks into Gotham and sees Penguin hobbling around on his way to torture the guitar player, cutting off one of his fingers. I guess he will not be so picky about his lady friends in the future.

Bullock, Thompkins and Gordon consider clues and ideas about Miss Fairchild's disappearance and murder. In another flashback, we see the two lovers on the morning after. The still unamed gentleman tries to get Miss Fairchild to stay and then gets very forceful with Jason - she finally says his name!

At the isolated mansion, Fish sneaks around in her attempt to get the key to the boat from Dalmacher's desk and the doctor discovers her red-handed. Fish's escape plan may be making its own escape.

8:33 pm: The Dollmaker confronts Fish and is obviously suspicious about why she was in her office. "One thing I cannot abide is dishonesty," he tells her as he points a gun at her. She relents and lies that she wanted to kill "her nightmare" and not end up as one of his creations. He believes her but warns her that he will make her a monster if there is any more trouble.

Back in Gotham, "Cat" Kyle bounds down from the rooftops to join Bruce on his quest to find Reggie, at a shooting gallery. Back at the Italian restaraunt, Mamma talks terms of the sale with Penguin after being reunited with her daughter.

At the police station, Bullock realizes that the killer has killed before and we see Miss Fairchild and Jason together again, now at dinner and she is a captive while he lives like everything is normal. Clearly an angry, twisted man, Jason goes into a rage and tells her "it's not you, it's me" and we see him having her tied up and being photographed just before he does unmentionable things to her. We also see his gallery of at least a dozen other former lady friends who have met the same, indecent fate as Miss Fairchild.

8:44 pm.: At the Italian Restaurant, Penguin reveals his plan for the place: it's where he will kill Don Maroni.

At the dungeon prison, Fish and company plan on rushing out and heading to the boat house. The gang spreads out and Fish heads for her friend but is stopped by Dr. Dalmacher., until the other inmates subdue him. The security forces scramble to stop the inmates. The goons realize Fish set them up and they get gunned down by security as decoys while Fish takes other inmates with her on the helicopter. Apparently she can fly a chopper, among her many talents. (Who knew an elegant nightclub owner with a mean streak could also take off in a fancy shmancy helicopter?) As the chopper lifts off, the Catcher gets a good shot in and Fish is wounded just as they fly away.

8:51 pm: Bullock goes over the details of the killers M.O. with Gordon, an ongoing case that old cops have known about for years. The Ogre, as he is called, is pretty horrible and has been protected by the GCPD, since he targets the loved ones of any cops who have looked in to his crimes. Bullock asks Jim how he knew about it and they look for the unnamed cop who brought it to his attention. They go find the plainclothesman.

Reggie, having been on a drinking and drug binge, is tracked down by Selina and Bruce. They ask who sent him to Wayne Manor, threatening to pitch his "medicine" unless he tells. Reggie admits it was the Wayne Industries folks, including a guy named Sid Bunderslaw, the one who hired him. Reggie tells them to watch out, they are just children, but not before Selina steps in front of Bruce who was about to push Reggie out the window and pushes him instead. Reggie cries out as he plunges to his death as the two teenagers stare in horror.

At the police station, Gordon and Bullock confront the young cop who admits it was Commissioner Loeb who put him up to getting Jim on to the case. Gordon confronts Loeb in the police station and makes himself clear: he is going after the Ogre - the name of the killer - and then he is coming after Loeb. Gordon heads off with renewed purpose to find the Ogre and protect Dr. Thompkins, who he feels in in grave danger.

MY TWO CENTS: I suspect it will take at least one or maybe two episodes for Jim and Harvey to track down Jason/the Ogre. I suspect the killer will not only find the lovely Lee Thompkins, but that semi-bad-girl Barbara Kean will also meet his acquaintance. We will also see if Penguin's plan to knock off Maroni works and what the outcome of Mooney's escape.
