I rarely go into an episode of television so nervous, but tonight was an exception. After last week's cliffhanger, it was time to get prepped for THE WALKING DEAD's Season Six Finale. This entire season has been anxiety-ridden and the finale was no exception.

Morgan, on the hunt for Carol, discovers a horse and rides into town (ala Rick Grimes in the pilot) and finally discovers an injured Carol. He nurses her wounds, but she definitely needs stitches and antibiotics. She confesses to Morgan that she isn't going back because she cares too much for everyone and can't watch them die anymore and begs him to let her die. She escapes when Morgan goes out to secure the perimeter and is attacked by the Savior who went followed her after the big confrontation on the road. Savior boy has decided to watch her suffer and shoots her repeatedly in her appendages so he can watch her slowly die. Morgan shows up and threatens him and winds up riddling him with bullets to kill him. Two armor-clad gents arrive on horseback and offer them aid.

But the real meat of the story is the long-awaited arrival of Negan. But let's back up... Rick gathers a group together to take Maggie up to Hilltop to get some actual medical aid. Carl, Abraham, Sasha, Eugene and Aaron join them. Rick leaves Father Gabriel in charge of Alexandria while Carl locks Enid in a closet to prevent her from coming with them. As they travel toward Hilltop, they are stopped by a group of Saviors. Rick tries to negotiate with them, but they aren't interested. Rick advises the group to turn around and go another route which the lead Savior encourages. That should have been the first red flag as every route they attempt to get through, there is another road block set by the saviors. When Eugene suggests that they ditch the RV and have him drive it away as a deterrent, they all say their emotional goodbyes. On foot, they carry Maggie on a stretcher through the woods and are immediately surrounded by the Saviors who have Eugene as their hostage. Dwight arrives and throws Michonne, Rosita, Daryl (who's alive... but, kind of gross... but I'd still hit it...) and Glenn. They are all directed down on their knees as Negan arrives and introduces himself and his bat, covered in barbed wire, in which he named Lucille. Negan tortures them emotionally as he tells them he will only kill one of them. He chooses very slowly and diabolically and bashes someone's head in... but we don't know who he chose.

And now we have to wait until October to find out who died. Let's weigh the options:

  • Eugene - His goodbyes were super emotional in which everyone gave him the respect he finally deserved. My bet is on him.

  • Michonne - I mean, she hooked up with Rick, that certainly raises her risk rate.

  • Abraham - He just decided to settle down and have kids with Sasha. But please not him, I'm learning all my best new phrases from him. We need him around! #bitchnuts

  • Sasha - Not the best history of men staying alive around her.

  • Carl - He's been shot how many times? Lost an eye? I think he's a long shot. (No pun intended)

  • Glenn - He is who Negan kills in the comic book, but we already kind of lost him once. Would they do that again?

  • Maggie - Bait and switch? Predict Glenn and kill Maggie?

  • Aaron - Just... please don't kill Aaron.

  • Rosita - The least emotional kill. (No offense, girl)

  • Rick and Daryl - Sorry, I just don't see these two going anywhere. And I am just waiting for the day when Daryl gets to kill Dwight. It has the potential of Jesse killing Todd satisfaction. #breakingbad

So I will stay with Eugene, which is definitely sad as I enjoy his humor. And his budding bro-mance with Abraham. One thing I do know, is there was WAY too little of Jesus in the last few episodes. You can't just dangle that in front of us and then take him away.

In other news, what happens after the reveal of the death? Are they all going to be taken captive to the Savior compound right into slave labor? Are they all going to head to Alexandria to take it over? I mean, I'm all for Father Gabriel's new found bad-assery, but he can't handle the Saviors.

Morgan went back on his no-kill policy so that's... something? And who were the two new lads who offered aid to Morgan? I'm sure this is comic book related. I highly doubt they would dangle two new characters for no reason.

Sadly, that's a wrap for Season Six. And so begins the long six month wait. In the meantime, here's a preview for Season 2 of FEAR THE WALKING DEAD premiering next Sunday:
