Diggle (David Ramsey) and Lyla (Audrey Marie Anderson) finally tie the knot again, ARROW (Stephen Amell) and the Atom (Brandon Routh) fight over who has the cooler costume and everyone's favorite stalker Cupid (Amy Gumenick) enlists in the Suicide Squad. Our quill's full, but we'll get you caught up on tonight's ep, "Suicidal Tendencies."
Awkward! Ollie is the odd man out as Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) has brought Ray (aka The Atom) as her plus one to Diggle's wedding. It's the first time Diggle is meeting Ray and he leans into Ray and whispers "Hurt her and they'll never find your body."
There isn't much time for jokes as Diggle soon learns the minister has been deployed to the Middle East. Luckily, Ray is an ordained minister. He steps in and performs the ceremony in such a charming way, I can see why Ollie can't stand him.
At the reception, Felicity gets a new alert on her phone. Ra's al Ghul's plan to frame ARROW for a string of murders has worked. The mayor and Ray will be holding a joint press conference to discuss how to handle the menace.
The news alert soon rings on all of Team ARROW's phones. They all leave the recpetion to watch the press conference from the lair. Not sure when Ray snuck out to do the press conference or if Felicity ever noticed him missing. Ray calls for aprehending ARROW so that he can face trial.
The Diggles ask what they can do to help. Ollie sends them to the airport to go on their honeymoon. They head to the limo waiting outside Thea's club. The assasin for hire Deadshot (Michael Rowe) is waiting inside to greet them. The Suicide Squad rides again.
Amanda Waller (Cynthia Addai Robinson) has assembled the squad as Senator Joseph Cray (Steven Culp) has been kidnapped. Lyla has been assigned to rescue him along with the rest of the members of the squad. Diggle won't let her out of his sights, so he is along for the ride. Ollie's stalker Cupid is also now on the team.
Back at the lair, Roy (aka Arsenal, played by Colten Haynes) arrives with intel: there is a big drug shipment coming into town and it is the exact kind of thing that ARROW would show up to stop. Which means Faux ARROW will also be there. Ollie suits up.
The Diggles have their first spat. The squad is approaching the compound where the Senator is being held. John wants to enter stealthly to keep the collateral damage low. Lyla tells him their mission is to rescue the Senator. The rest of the hostages aren't U.S. citizens. Ouch.
Flashback #1: Deadshot returns home to surprise his wife. He has a daughter, but she doesn't remember him and he scares her.
In the warehouse where the drug delivery is going down, Faux ARROW quickly kills must of the guys. ARROW arrives and fights, but other League of Assasins members --all dressed like ARROW-- arrive. This includes Maseo (Karl Yune).
Meanwhile, the Atom is suitable up and on the scene. His helmet has face recognition software built in. He catches just a glimps of ARROW and it identifies Ollie.
Ray confronts Felicity with this fact. He knows Felicity has been helping ARROW all this time. She tries to convince him that Ollie is innocent. Ray feels betrayed. He tells her he is going to honor his promise and bring the ARROW to justice.
Flashback #2: Deadshot gives his daughter a sandwich, but she won't eat it. He yells at her. His wife comes in and he yells at her. She knows he is suffering from PTSD. He pulls a gun on his wife. She gets away and calls the police.
Felicity returns to the lair to tell Ollie that Ray knows. Ollie feels betrayed that Felicity didn't tell him about Ray's Atom suit. Felicity is not having a good day.
Ray attempts to give a statement to Laurel (Katie Cassidy). The digital image is immiscable and his written statement is uncorroborated. Ray reveals that he also knows a lot about Laurel: she's training with a former vigilante, Ollie and she used to be a couple and he also knows that she wears a mask. She tells him if he goes public, Ollie will have a strong case for defamation. He tells her he will seek out justice on his own.
The squad begins their assault on the compound. They attempt to rescue the Senator and after they have killed all the kidnappers, the Senator pulls a gun on Lyla. It was all planned by the Senator. He opens fire on the squad. Deadshot pushes Cupid out of harms way. Looks like someone just gained himself a stalker.
The Senator hijacks the squad's radio frequency (so they can't radio for extraction). He planned all of this to make himself look like a real American hero. Seems the Senator is thinking about running for president and an incident like this will send his polls skyrocketing. Assuming none of the squad makes it out alive to tell otherwise, of course. Or any of the other hostages. He plans on killing them all.
Ollie shows up at Ray's office. Ollie tells him Felicity told Ray the truth and he should trust her judgement. He refuses, saying she has an inflated perception of Ollie. Ollie leaves, telling him "You have no idea what this city is up against."
The compound is now under seige by the Senator's mercenaries. They have rigged the place with explosives and plan to kill the squad and all the hostages. Deadshot insists they are going to make it out alive along with the hostages.
Flashback #3: Deadshot is sprung from jail, but only if he goes to work for Waller's group. The restraining order his wife has filed means he will never see her or their daughter ever again.
Back at the lair, Ollie tells Felicity that her boyfriend is stubborn, unstable and probably going to get himself killed by one of the League of Assasins.
"You would like that, wouldn't you," Felicity retorts. Oh, snap. Things just got real.
Ollie tells her he couldn't be with her and save the city. "And neither can Ray," he says. "He's just too new at this to know that."
An alert comes in. It's another drug deal. Ollie tells Felicity to tell Roy to suit up and meet him there.
ARROW and Arsenal arrive as does the Atom. He faked the 911 call to lure them there. He shocks Arsenal, knock him out. He and ARROW battle. ARROW manages to knock out the suit power. Ray tells ARROW to "kill me and show Felicity exactly the kind of man you are." Ollie helps Ray up and tells him "I don't have anything to prove to Felicity, but you do." Ollie walks away.
At the compound, the Senator is apologizing to the hostages he's going to kill. Heck of a guy. The Diggles and Cupid storm the room and kill many of the mercenaries. The Senator threatens to blow everyone up. He wants to be president for the legacy and dying a hero is just as good. The three disarm. The Senator realizes one of the squad is missing. Deadshot lives up to his name: taking out all of the mercenaries and shooting the detonator out of the Senator's hand.
Cupid and the Diggles get the hostages to safety. Cupid radios Deadshot to ask how he is getting out. She calls him baby. He tells her he's not getting out. He holds a picture of his wife and daughter as the building explodes.
Felicity shows up to work and asks Ray how he's doing. He's hurting from the battle. He tells her he owes her an apology and should have trusted her.
Back stateside, Diggle watches the news. The Senator has bribed all the former hostages and pinned the whole thing on Deadshot.
Back at the lair, Diggle and Ollie raise a glass to toast the memory of Floyd Lawton (aka Deadshot). Ollie tells him they have to sto Ra's before innocent people are killed.
In the mayor's office, Ray is presenting his new evidence. Captain Lance still thinks ARROW is guilty. An arrow flies throught the window, hitting the mayor. Maseo is the one who shot it. He draws another arrow from his quill and takes aim at Felicity.
And that's where we end things, kids. Well, that and with a public service message the Wounded Warrior Project (woundedwarriorproject.org), the charity that supports injured vets and their familes.
