I'm guessing when the writers created this episode, they didn't realize just how prophetic it would be... or did they? It's getting creepy real in fiction, even if it isn't as creepy as reality.

Okay, SO much just happened. First on the docket, taking down Drumpf Doyle. Liz and Abby decide they will have to call a cease fire and take down Doyle together. But the more shameful things that come out about him, the more popular he becomes. It's so frustrating! His final straw comes on the Liberty Report when he promises the VP spot on his ticket to whomever drops out of the race first. Liv pays a visit to Doyle to accept the deal, but secretly records him mocking how stupid his followers are and releases it to the Liberty Report. With no defense, Doyle stumbles and is quickly turned on by his loyal supporters. (Wishful thinking). He is expected to drop out of the race at any moment.

Rowan's puppet, Edison, wants to speak out against Doyle, but Rowan reminds him that he is indeed, a puppet and will remain silent until he beats Vargas for the Democratic nomination. He will also have Jake as his VP. Edison is resistant, but Jake makes it clear there is no option. Cyrus pays a visit to Olivia telling him he truly believes in Vargas and cannot understand why he is losing to Edison Davis. Olivia tells him Rowan is behind it. Olivia pays a visit to Edison and tells him he is being played and he should drop out of the race but not before voicing his true opinion of Doyle. He does so and makes a STIRRING rant to the Press about the racist and horrible Doyle. Edison calls Vargas and concedes. Cyrus is overjoyed. Rowan and Jake are not pleased, but figure Olivia is behind it.

Liv and Abby dig up dirt on each other's opponent. Liv finds out about David's deal with the Governor of Florida. And Rowan presents Abby with the information that Liv got an abortion. They take on the tactic of revealing everything they have to everyone involved to see who will come off as the stronger candidate. Liv reveals David's secret which horrifies Susan. Abby decides she cannot hurt Liv and reveals a lesser secret Liz had given her earlier about Mellie seeing a psychic. They all agree Mellie should be the nominee as she could recover easier from the dirt. Susan concedes and drops out. After she and David just reconciled and even got engaged (from the world's worst proposal), Susan tells him she will continue to be take on the world, but she has no more time for him in her life. Can Mellie ask Susan to be the Veep? I don't want her to go away anytime soon!

Liv goes to see Abby and asks what the real dirt was. Abby tells her what she knows. Liv isn't ashamed, but grateful because it would have really hurt Fitz who still doesn't know. Abby also tells her Rowan was the one who gave her the information and he is not done with Liv. Rowan and Jake pay a visit to Edison. Rowan orders Jake to take care of Edison, but not kill him. Jake puts Edison in a choke hold as Rowan leaves. Jake whispers to Edison to tell Olivia that he is trying to escape Rowan and is "chasing the sun?"

What the what? Jake has known all along like we'd been hoping and knows Olivia loves him? Oh thank heavens.

Also? Mellie and Marcus are so gonna do it.

Also? Edison Davis' rant to the press was off the charts amazing. You know Shonda has had that in her back pocket all season just waiting.

Also? Susan gave one HELL of a speech to David. When she spit back at him, "Yeah, I know. I'm amazing," I may have cheered. Sure she's fragile on the inside, but no need for him to see that. You go, Susan! I can't believe in one season how I've done a complete 180 on David Rosen. What a douche.

Also? That speech that Doyle gave that Liv recorded... sure makes you think, huh? Saying crazy things to attract a "certain demographic," then to plan to dial it back a little in the general election to get the rest of the party on your side? Quite a business model. Quite a frightening thought to think that could actually work. Yet another time that I wish life could be as easy as a television show and a simple video could solve a problem.

Season finale next week. The promo is right about one thing, I have NO Idea what is going to go down.

Here's a preview for the next week's season five finale:
