She said, "yes." That was quite an astonishing turn of events in just one little word, now wasn't it? Shonda is able to shock us once again and we are only at episode two. SCANDAL oesn't give us time to breathe, that's for sure.

Poor Liz and Abby. They both want the same thing, they both are constantly working against each other and disrespecting each other and plotting and all they really need to do is work together. Liz is infuriated when Abby tells the Press that the First Couple are just fine (Thanks to her private advisor, Cyrus) even though she was given explicit instructions to say nothing. Liz wants to fire her, but she can't as she knows it will add fuel to the fire. Fitz is outraged and wants the leak investigated so he turns to poor David Rosen who is used once again, for no good reason. His investigation turns inconclusive so he hands the report over to Abby and she discovers that it was, in fact, Liz who leaked the information. With this knowledge, she can not only stop Liz from firing her, she can force her to work together with her instead of against her and make a powerful team.

Olivia only wants to be distracted so she takes on a random case where a Billionaire is found dead. The accused, his son Big Head Gavin is missing. Olivia takes off on a road trip to find him in a casino in North Carolina. Jake joins her to bring him in and to save her from her increasingly popular public image. They finally track Gavin down where he confesses he did shove his father down the steps after he learned he was cutting him out of his will in favor of his new wife. But back to why we really tuned in...

Huck shows up back at Pope and Associates claiming Jake has "fixed" him. Jake vouches for him, but Quinn still isn't buying it. When a reporter sneaks into their office, Quinn sees Huck on the verge of mortal rage, but intervenes and takes care of the reporter in typical, psycho Quinn fashion. Huck decides to leave knowing she's right, he isn't fixed at all. Quinn catches up to him later and admits that she's pretty messed up too and neither one of them is fixable, but at least they have each other.

Mellie offers Fitz a deal where she will cover for him and tell the Press they are still happily together. Fitz is very suspicious that Mellie leaked the photos and tells her to get lost. Abby confronts him and tells him that Olivia will not want to be in the spotlight and he should let her go. And he does just that. In a touching voicemail, he tells Olivia his plan and that he loves her too much to get her involved. Mellie and Fitz prepare for a sit down interview together. And in a Shonda-esque turn, when confronted by the Press, Olivia admits that she is, indeed, Fitzgerald Grant's mistress.

Why would she do that? I mean, Abby was right. Olivia doesn't want that life, that was clear in the diner and that was just, well, a diner! Poor Jake, he will just do anything for her and she just loves somebody else. That was a nice little heart to heart they had in the hotel room, he sure is one understanding ex-assassin. Must be nice, Olivia, to have your hot ex spoon you, while you cry over your troubled boyfriend problems. Didn't really care too much about the case they took on, but I guess that was the point? A throwaway case to distract P&A from their personal problems.

I'm looking forward to the reaction of Olivia's big admission especially from Cyrus. He must be crawling out of skins having to watch all this unfold on the sidelines instead of being part of it. And now that Abby and Liz have agreed to work together, will that end her alliance with Cyrus? And isn't he married? Where's his prostitute/husband? He seems awfully lonely. And we need more Cyrus than the disgruntled ex-employee in the bathrobe. From the looks of the preview next week, maybe scheming, plotting, undermining Cyrus in a suit will be back?

How long will Liz and Abby's alliance last? What's next for Jake? What will this do to Mellie's political future now? Will poor David Rosen ever catch a break? And seriously, what's next for Jake? #teamnoelcrane
