Mindy's return brings a guest-star filled episode and a much needed lesson to be learned about the importance of other people's time. Can Dr. C teach Mindy to value being prompt or will his Mom to do the real schooling... inadvertently?

Danny is struggling with Mindy's chronic lateness to everything. Whether it's to see "The Godfather:Part II" or to work or to see the best of Italian-American comedy, he has just had it. To prove her point, she sets Danny's watch back an hour to try and make him late for work to show him what a big deal it is not. Danny makes it to work on time and does a delicious celebratory dance. However, Dr. Fishman (Guest Star, Niecy Nash), still convinced that Danny tried to commit suicide, witnesses his victory dance and orders him to a mental health workshop. Hmmm, now who in the building would run such a workshop? Brendan DeLaurier. When Danny arrives he finds his friend Paul, as well as Morgan, who are there to work through issues. Morgan's insistence that Danny participate puts Danny face to face with Brendan, that when bullied, Danny does actually work through some abandonment issues regarding his father.

In order for Danny to attend the workshop, Mindy covers running errands with his mother, Annette, and her best friend, Dot (Guest Stars, Rhea Perlman and Jenny O'Hara.) Mindy finally sees the importance of being on time as the two ladies push her to the brink.

Morgan and Tamera decide to set Peter up with their friend, Abby (Guest Star, Alison Tolman). Peter is less than impressed when he first meets her but learns she is a successful romance novelist and begs for another chance.

This episode was so chock full of guest stars that we missed out on some of our regular character screen time. Jeremy was practically invisible and Beverly only had one moment (albeit, a classic). I have been wondering where the DeLauriers have been. (Sidenote: Make sure to check out TRANSPARENT on Amazon starring Jay Duplass. It is marvelous!) They were such present adversaries in the first two seasons and now we are lucky to catch a glimpse of them in the elevators. I'm not complaining about seeing the relationship of Danny and Mindy, it is quite enjoyable, but I'd like to see more of the practice and the people in it. And I really need another Morgan and Peter teaming. Those are just too good to be so infrequent. And sorry, Mindy, I gotta go with Dr. C on this one; late is so dang rude!

MVP - Tamera! Give this girl more screen time, already!

Runner Up - Danny Castellano for no other reason than his victory dance.

Favorite Lines:

  • Tamera - She's been looking for a strong-ass man, but now she's lowering her standards, so I think you'd be perfect!

  • Mindy - I'm giving you the silent treatment, by the way. That's why I walked right by you and didn't respond.

  • Mindy - Is this a conversation Danny? Because it feels like a lecture and not the good kind where I end up stalking the Professor at the end.

  • Tamera - Who do you think you are? You think Natalie Portman's sitting in her castle like "Oh, I wonder if there any schlubs out there who wear a bathing suit as underwear?"

  • Mindy - This can't be worse than the time when I shredded your passport for confetti, right?

Can Lefty finally abandon his nickname and find real love with Abby? Anything to keep Alison Tolman around, please! And let's not lose Jeremy now just when he started to get interesting. He had barely a cameo in this episode. Not that I'll ever complain about Morgan time. Face it, Mindy, you've created too many beloved characters and we need more screen time for all of them!
