Oh my word! You know it's an action-packed episode when Cyrus is in bed with a prostitute is the least interesting scene. And from the looks of it, the fictional White House is having some Secret Service trouble as well!

We knew it was bound to happen, but Olivia finally made it back to the White House this week. And why? First daughter, Karen, found herself in kind of a bind after she slipped away from her Secret Service detail. (Clearly she never watched THE WEST WING to know how dangerous that is. #zoeybartlett) She needed an extraction from a party, but that was the best decision she made all night. The sex tape she made with two random dudes at the party was lower on the list. Having to hand deliver this news to the President isn't exactly the best way for Fitz and Olivia to finally come face to face again, but this is SCANDAL. (Kudos on the use of Prince's "Controversy" under this whole scene.) Olivia and her Gladiator team (still just Quinn and Huck) are on the case to figure out who the two guys are and how to stop them from posting the video on the internet. Quinn finds one at Gettysburger (still love the name) and he reveals the other is a rich kid, known for getting in trouble. Lucky his parents are used to it and are reasonable. Except for the fact that they want $2.5 million to keep it quiet. Blech.

Upon explaining this to the President, Olivia reveals that she wasn't alone when she went away, she was with Jake. Furious, the President tells Olivia to pay off the stupid family. When she brings them their blackmail payment, they ask for more. And this is when Olivia loses her... calm. She gives an infuriated monologue to these horrible people and threatens to destroy them which we all know she can do easily. (Anyone else stand up and applaud in this moment? Just me?) They back down and walk away with no money.

Mellie is none too keen about seeing Olivia in the White House. Fitz has to tell her the truth about Karen. When Mellie blames him he finally lets her have it and tells her that it is time for her to get herself together. Amazing monologue (and standing ovation) #2 for the evening. Mellie confronts Karen and actually gives her a break knowing that she was just trying to feel something to get away from the loss of her brother. It was an endearing, rare moment for Mellie these days.

The President, infuriated at Secret Service breech, hires a new Chief who while investigating, finds some discrepancies with Tom's schedule from a few months back. Tom wants to flee but Jake convinces him to confess and Jake will back him up. But the President turns to Rowan for help (oy) and Rowan, without saying the actual words, forces Tom to throw Jake under the bus and tell the President that Jake ordered him to kill Fitz' son. Jake and Tom are both led off in handcuffs. Rowan wins again!

I am worried for Jake and Tom. And I shouldn't be as they both have done vile things and yet I so want them both to survive. Fitz doesn't exactly take kindly to enemies of the State so I will maintain my fretting. And kudos to you, Brian Letscher as Tom. That was quite a performance of "Who do I trust," because seriously... WHO DO YOU TRUST?

What I Know:

  • Abby just can't win.

  • I am so super happy I went to college before cell phones. #enoughsaid

  • I hope whatever prison Jake and Tom go to is a shirtless one.

What I Don't Know:

  • Does this breakthrough mean that Mellie will finally shower (and take off the damn Uggs?)

  • Will David Rosen actually stick up for Jake? He may be the only one that can save him now. But being the Attorney General that could get awkward as won't he be the one prosecuting him?

  • Were Cyrus' words to Abby justified or was he just being a jerk? Maybe a little bit of both?

Lines I Love:

  • Olivia - Every girl is someone's daughter.

  • Huck - I pulled the numbers from all the cell phones I shut down and tracked all the similar tweets and Instagrams from that night, #swaggapalooza. Quinn - I'm concerned for our future.

  • Jake - If you do try to kill me? Not today. It's gorgeous out.

  • Cyrus - Hello, Mellie. Got some new boots on there? New color?

  • Olivia - You two are the absolute worst kind of people. The kind who have everything and still want more!

No real mention of the other storyline with Olivia's friend, Katherine this week. Not that I didn't appreciate all of these plotlines coming to a head. I'm sure that story will continue soon enough, but in the meantime, how long is Rowan going to get away with this? I honestly think when Fitz finds all this out he will kill him with his own hands. Could Fitz and Olivia survive knowing he killed both of her parents? Even if they really, really deserved it? Thoughts?
