Things are getting a little more twisted this week on GRIMM. When we left Nick and company last week, a solution to his recent predicament had been found - with a catch. It couldn't be too easy, right?

Monroe explains that Juliette will need to "do what Adalind did." Potion, intimacy... and masquerading as another woman. That's right, Juliette has to become Adalind for the duration of the tryst in order for the cure to work. After Nick and Juliette each throw up in their mouths a little, they go over the specifics of the procedure. Nick doesn't want to participate, though his friends try to talk him into the idea - I'm not sure which was better, Elizabeth's suggestion of using a very dark room, or Trubel's inspiring comments, such as, "It's about gettin' it done. Just saying." Elizabeth lets them know that doing nothing could be as detrimental to Nick as trying the potion, and advises Nick that he should decide quickly as she won't be around much longer. She later discusses the baby with Sean, who tells her Nick's mother has the child. Will Elizabeth be seeking her out when she leaves Portland?

Speaking of Adalind, she was nearly drowning in castle tears when we saw her last. As her story resumes, she pretty much warps to a corridor of creepy - crying baby sound effects, a second Adalind running around... and suddenly the strange man who's trying to help her escape is looking pretty normal. Until, you know, he turns into a key and lets her into a room containing the door she is supposed to use to escape as well as a pig she thinks is her baby for a moment. She falls through the floor and back into her cell, and as the Adalind in Wonderland portion of the program concludes Victor appears and tells her he wants the same thing she does - to find the child.

We meet this week's guests, a rather paranoid woman named Ava and her husband Gabriel, as they are preparing for bed. She makes him promise that "he" won't be there, and I have to assume she's referring to the very dapper wolfman that shows up soon after. She runs from him, but Baron VonWolfenstein appears wherever she goes and makes her drink from his glass. Her husband wakes when the glass shatters but doesn't make it outside in time to stop her from taking the car and crashing it through the gate. Sadly, she kills a young man and no one believes her when she tells them about the wolf... except Nick and Hank, of course, and even Wu, who is beginning to believe pretty much anything. Are they ever going to tell him? I can't wait to welcome Wu to Team Grimm!

Trubel is pretty irritated with Nick over breakfast the next day and tells him she should probably move out if she's going to be the only Grimm around, but before they can hash that one out (again) Bud shows up to tell Trubel that Nick's in danger. Bud apparently had a few too many and let the news about Nick slip to some Wesen who have a score to settle, and now it'll be up to Trubel to stop them from taking their revenge. Juliette overhears, which likely gives her some food for thought. Trubel and Bud go looking for the Wesen who are after Nick, starting with a man sporting a fabulous hair and beard combo. He's not terribly impressed with Trubel's warnings, but is somewhat more interested when she knocks him senseless. I can't help it - I like Trubel more and more every week. Despite the impressive display, Trubel believes they've only scratched the surface of the problem.

In the hospital, Gabriel explains to Hank and Nick that Ava had to be sedated when she learned she killed someone, and that she has been suffering from a mental illness for several months. He accompanies them to the house and tells them about the wolf she's been talking about, then gives them the name of her psychiatrist, who provides pictures of the wolf drawn by Ava. They take them to Monrosalee and our favorite couple informs Nick they are dealing with a Luison. When they return to the hospital Ava is awake and she describes the night of the accident, telling them that the wolf pretends to be kind but she knows he isn't.

Nick and Hank discuss the case with Sean, including some suspicions about the husband, and Sean tells them he is aware Trubel is a Grimm and should perhaps help with the investigation. Nick doesn't want Trubel involved and instead sends Monroe to investigate. While Monroe's sniffing out the house Gabriel returns home - except he's also at the hearing with Nick. Say what? Turns out Gabriel is a twin and they've been scamming Ava, trying to get her out of the way so that they can cash in on her inheritance. Monroe and Hank take out twin number one and then discover - mind blown - they're actually triplets. All three of them are arrested and Ava is finally able to understand what happened, sort of - Nick tells her they were using masks to frighten her. Close enough.

Remember Rolek Porter, the Grimm we met briefly last season before his death? His son Josh returns to bring Rolek's ashes home and finds a couple of Wesen in the recently-ransacked home, and when he calls for help Nick advises him to stay away. Is this about the mysterious keys, which seem to have been all but forgotten this season?

Nick tells Monroe that as much as the thought of having a normal life appeals to him, he misses being a Grimm. Hank, Rosalee, and Juliette join them for a toast but before the ringing of the goblets even fades they notice a flaming symbol on the lawn - apparently another message for Monrosalee. As they watch it burn, Juliette tells Nick she's ready to help him become a Grimm again.

The previews indicate that they do in fact go through with the whole Juliette-as-Adalind ordeal in the next episode, but it appears it does not work as expected. Looks like more trouble for Nick is ahead, including mention of sacrifice and someone with a very long tongue. Will he regain his powers at the eleventh hour? Will the ordeal damage Nick and Juliette further? A lot of unanswered questions remain, and I'm looking forward to seeing what's answered during the rest of the season.
