The ASA's are finally here! Yay... if only so we can stop hearing them say, "ASA." But it sure wasn't the evening the Lyons' were expecting.

Yes, Lucious and family are preparing for the damn ASA's. Leah, in all her Erica Kane villainous glory, finally catches the video for "Boom Boom Boom Boom" and realizes Lucious is still lying about his life. She manages to make Dre feel bad for her that no one invited her to the award show. Dre decides to sneak her in, but Thirsty and his men are on the case and lock them in the panic room for the award show.

Jamal and Freda play their new song for D major who loves it. When Freda leaves, they have a tender moment, but are almost caught by Lucious. D flips out on Jamal for "coming on to him" and storms out. Lucious laughs, he knows very well that D is on the Down Low. He is more sad that Jamal is taking part in a secretive lifestyle again. It escalates into a fight and Lucious tells him very viciously that he will celebrate when he dies of AIDS. (This is such a homophobic and disgusting thing to say, I can barely stomach typing it. Lucious is vile) Jamal tells Cookie what happened and she begs him to be cool as the Feds are on to them still. She tells him that she snitched on Frank Gathers and since Frank ended up in prison with Lucious, Jamal is able to piece together that Lucious probably had something to do with his death.

Carol mentions to Cookie that she's been seeing their old friend Tariq. Cookie knows damn well that he's a Fed and goes to see him. She threatens him to stay away from Carol because she won't give him anything. Cookie tells Carol she's an idiot and is being played and kicks her out.

Everyone gets ready for the ASA's. Lucious presents Cookie with a big old diamond bracelet and they think back to when they used to dream of this night. Jamal shows up on the red carpet without a date and sees D Major with a supermodel. He tells the press that he is happy to be single and this will be the last time he performs with his family. Hakeem and Laura show up and Laura is repeatedly asked to step out of photographs. When Carol shows up loaded out of her mind, Lucious and Cookie try to play it off and have her escorted off the red carpet. She runs into Freda and reveals that Lucious had Frank killed. Enraged, Freda grabs a security guard's gun and fires a shot at Lucious, but shoots Jamal instead. Jamal is rushed to the hospital. Thirsty releases Leah and Dre and they all head to the hospital. With no one watching her, Leah heads out to the Press in front of the hospital as she is questioned how she is related to the Lyons family.

And just like that, season two is about to come to a close. Jamal is going to live. Yes, they teased us with a funeral scene in next week's episode, but he's going to live. Ronda has pretty much figured out Anika and basically called her out. And now, she's in Fed custody with Tariq? Anika, come on!

So next week, I guess it's on. Whose funeral were they at? Is D Major gonna show up at the hospital and out himself for Jamal? Will Anika really jump off the ledge? Would we be sad about that? Would it be irony if it is Ronda who actually pushes her off the ledge? Did I just get too dark? Am I doing enough with my life? Is Leah going to get more dramatic? Does Jamal really have to get shot for Lucious to realize just how vile he has become? Did Cookie get blood on that diamond bracelet? Can Freda still release albums from prison? Do they constantly do similar plot lines to "Hustle and Flow" as an homage or is it a coincidence? Next week's finale will be sure to have a few cliffhangers.

Here's a preview for next week's season finale:
