Tonight on SLEEPY HOLLOW: Abbie and Ichabod learn that Katrina is in imminent danger and race against the clock to help her in the all-new "Deliverance" episode of SLEEPY HOLLOW.
We open tonight's episode to a flashback of Crane and Katrina talking about their future kids. Katrina then has a vision and awakes from what we will assume is a nightmare. The episode then cuts to Crane and Katrina going to vote - with Crane amazed at the poor voting turn out. There's even a hilarious reference to American Idol voting.
The episode cuts to Katrina - who is not well. The horseman promises he had nothing to do with it - but she doesn't believe him. Henry Parrish arrives under Moloch's orders and has a "doctor" examine her.
Henry takes away the horseman's magic "head." Katrina is alarmed and manages to escape. While voting, Abbie is informed that Katrina has been picked up by police. She runs out immediately, noting that she would have never left the horseman unless something was wrong.
Katrina and Crane are finally reunited! (Even if she is terribly ill!) She keeps clutching her abdomen, which leads me to think she may be pregnant with a daemon baby. The show just cut to the opening credits, and a commercial break.
Katrina is in the hospital, and has no clothes. Katrina is shocked at what passes for fashion in modern time. As Katrina is trying to escape the hospital, when she sees the men who had come for her before. Crane leaves with Katrina for the archives, while Abbie trails the suspects.
Katrina tells Crane about a symbol on the book of the "doctor" from the horseman's cottage. He tells her it's the symbol of a secret society, who are evil, obviously! They learn Benjamin Franklin documented Katrina's illness, but doesn't list what happens to her - if she lived or died.
Crane and Karina have a conversation about their relationship, and where they stand. Crane promises her when the war is over - he and she will build a life together. "The life we deserve." -Crane
Abbie follows the "doctors" to a warehouse - and breaks in to spy on them. They are translating some kind of tablet - and are speaking to someone on the phone, who we assume is Crane. Abbie discovers some bodies on tables in the warehouse, and one grabs her. They appear to be infected with the same disease Katrina has. Abbie makes too much noise and puts the warehouse into high alert - while recording things on her cell phone at the same time. She manages to escape with the pictures and return to the archives. One photo includes what appears to be a "birthing" set up. We learn Katrina is pregnant.
Crane is worried the horseman is the father. But he goes to one of his books, and learns it was the "Jinkan" that made Katrina pregnant.
Abbie: "Henry is growing a daemon inside of you."
Someone tries to break into the archives, so they run away into the tunnels. A shooting match begins as we learn that the "doctors have come for Katrina!" This week's episode is full of very intense moments! A nice change from last week where we got an episode full of information, but less action than usual.
They manage to escape and hide. They discuss getting the daemon out, and Katrina says that Henry could remove the daemon. Crane says he is too evil, but Katrina says "there is still a part of him that remains human." Crane says "Henry is trying to kill you!"
Has Crane lost faith in his son?
Henry Parrish comes to see Ex-Captain Irving. Crane comes in and pleads with Henry to save his wife. Meanwhile, Katrina is still hiding and Abbie is upset with their plan to convince Henry to save her. Meanwhile, Abbie learns that a daemon called the "horrid king" is growing inside Katrina. It turns out that the horrid king is another name for Moloch!
Katrina says Moloch cannot rise if she kills herself. Abbie tries to talk her out of it. Meanwhile, Henry and Crane are still talking. Crane is appealing to the sentimental side of Henry. Henry denies having any feeling left for his parents.
Crane tells Henry that Katrina is not the reason bad things have happened to him. Crane seems to be making some headway with his son. "Jeremy, you have a choice." he says.
But Henry chooses Moloch.
Crane thinks the northern lights can somehow save Katrina. In some old documents - they find he was right. It appears that Franklin built a northern lights simulator - and hid it in the tablet from earlier in the episode. Abbie and Crane plan on going after it. They tell Katrina that she has to hold on and give her a walkie talkie to keep in touch.
Abbie walks into the police station and tells her new captain "We need to tell you the truth about what's going on in Sleepy Hollow" before cutting to a commercial. They do this as they need an army to storm the lab full of evil "doctors" with guns.
They give the captain some of the truth, and try to convince her to help. Abbie manages to convince her to supply a team to help. They go and break into the warehouse. Crane and Abbie try to get the tablet but it's in a locked case. While under fire - Crane manages to break into the case. The passcode turns out to be "666."
Abbie to Crane: "They're an evil club, try 666!"
They get the tablet but are stopped by the captain. The captain tells her she did a good job, and is impressed by Crane also. They rush to return to Katrina - who appears to be in severe pain. She messages them to hurry!
Crane and Abbie rush in with the tablet to try and save Katrina! All of a sudden, a wind breaks into their hiding place. Crane manages to extract the crystal which will make a simulation of the northern lights and breaks open a covered window to let the light shine in. In this highly climactic moment, Moloch is banished. Some incredible acting by Katia Winter in this scene.
Katrina appears to not be breathing, so Crane engages in CPR. Things look pretty grim, but she suddenly starts coughing. Moloch appears to have been stopped for the time being, and Crane and Katrina share a passionate kiss when neither are in danger, for what appears to be the first time in the series (not in a flashback.)
In a post climax discussion - Abbie and Crane reflect on recent events. Crane still thinks he can save Henry, even though Abbie thinks it's a pointless battle. Somehow, I highly doubt that Henry can still be saved. I am a huge fan of the work John Noble is doing on this series. I'd hate for the "perfect" villain to go away! In a final cutaway, lightning strikes a glass jar and something begins to grow inside of it. This appears to be the set-up for next week.
