"It's just not that easy being pregnant, cutting up your mom, and waiting for someone to kill you." - Adalind Schade
Hank, Nick, Monroe, and Wu arrive to find the trailer destroyed, which is sad because of all the information lost, but also because it's Nick's legacy of sorts from Aunt Marie. It's sort of making me wonder how much more will go down before Nick even WANTS Juliette back. At any rate, the group looks for salvageable items, each flashing back to their introductions to the trailer.
A Wesen prostitute is picked up and subsequently killed by a creepy gent. When Hank and Nick report to the scene they chat with Wu and the prostitute's co-worker, also a Wesen. Nick verifies that the victim was Wesen and they discover her uterus was removed. Back at the station they compare the case to the victims of Jack the Ripper, wondering if it's a sort of COPYCAT - and wondering if the original Jack was a Grimm. They recruit Monroe's assistance, and the spice shop's basement, to research the case. Meanwhile, the other prostitute meets the same fate as her friend, and the man does refer to himself as Jack.
Monroe finds a lead in one of the books that survived the fire, and they wonder at the possibility of a very old entity causing the murders via possession - not just now, but the original killings as well, and maybe more. Hank and Nick take off when Wu calls about the next murder, and Rosalee suggests to Monroe that they should maybe contact Trubel to help Nick, at which point I cheered loudly. I miss me some Trubel!
Adalind and Rosalee work together to create the suppressant for Juliette, mixing all the ingredients sans Adalind's mom. The men return to tell them what Juliette's done, and after a fantastic round of "not it" they take Adalind to stay with Bud. It IS probably the last place Juliette would look, but I found it somewhat hilarious, especially when Bud works out that Nick's the father of the baby. We also learn that Nick really enjoys pie.
Adalind, Sean, and Monrosalee go to exhume the body of Adalind's mother, and Adalind gives a touching speech to the coffin before they take her back to the spice shop and remove several specific parts, at which point I started watching the show alone because everyone else was too grossed out to stay. So was Adalind, because she nearly fainted when the final ingredients were added. They strain the potion through The Hat and Adalind drinks some as a test, then proceeds to thrash madly while her Hexenghost flies around and breaks things. When it's over she tries to Woge without success, and Nick takes her to Bud's for the night with Hank standing guard.
Sean gives a press conference about the serial killer, randomly bleeding from the chest yet again about halfway through. He runs off to see Henrietta and describes what's been happening, his strange dreams, and waking up in random places that often involve water. Although she urgently asks him to stay, he decides no one can help and runs off. In a rather crazy twist we hear the door creak open and moments later Henrietta becomes Jack's next victim.
Juliette goes to the house and sends an email to Nick's mom, telling her Nick is in trouble and needs her. Kelly replies that she's on the way and Juliette deletes the evidence. She returns to see Kenneth, and after reporting her activities to him he offers her a place to stay. She shows Kenneth and several of his minions photos of Nick's house, describing the layout and the neighbors, and declines a call from Nick. When she later returns his call with Kenneth present, he tells her about the suppressant and she agrees to meet him at the spice shop. Naturally she wants no part of it and proceeds to send people flying around the room, then uses her POWERS to make Nick aim his gun at Monroe. The gun goes off as the episode ends, but I did see Monroe in the preview for next week so I think he'll be all right. The potion, however, is not - Juliette destroys what's left of it.
As the season's end draws near, we see Nick's mom returning with Diana in tow, and TRUBEL IS BACK OMG YAY, and someone (Nick?) screaming in agony. What's next for our favorite Grimm? Will Juliette ever stop being awful, and will Diana be taken by the royals? Let me know what you think with a comment below or on Twitter at @GoddessTiff with your thoughts, and don't forget to follow @BWWTVWorld while you're there to stay up to date on your favorite shows. While we wait for next week's insanity, here's another look at Adalind taking one for the team.
