This season is really moving! There are a lot of things going on, and I'm finding each episode more exciting than the last. This week is definitely no exception and may just be my favorite so far

When we left Nick last week, he was having some sort of Adalind-induced attack that frightened Wu and Juliette. This week's GRIMM opens with Wu peering into Nick's eyes, and he takes Juliette and Nick to the hospital, leaving behind the photo and questions about Trubel that brought him there in the first place. Though the brief reprieve from Wu's suspicion was probably a relief, it may not have been worth the battery of tests Nick proceeded to undergo. Neurological scans showed nothing out of the ordinary, and Nick was referred to an opthamologist.

In what proves to be a very interesting - and kind of sad - storyline, we meet Clay Pittman, a young boxer with a promising future. It's initially unclear why, but a couple of men enter his room as he gears up for the fight and start beating him. Like, with sticks and such. Why are they doing that? Why did the trainer leave him there to endure that? We soon have at least part of our answer as Clay is revealed to be a Wesen and when the door opens, only his attackers are shown to be worse for the wear. Meanwhile, Clay is riled up and drops the other boxer in the ring faster than the average Kardashian marriage.

Back home, Nick is drawing a picture of the dungeon he saw while mind-melding with Adalind. Pretty impressive shading and perspective, too - is there nothing the man can't do? Besides see Wesen, that is. Juliette hands him the photo of Trubel that Wu left and encourages Nick to tell Wu the truth. Before they get too far into that discussion, though, Trubel returns home.

Remember last week, when Trubel was off her guard due to a bacon coma? Agent Chavez and her thugs tied her up and in this episode work to convince her to join a group that aims to bring down bad Wesen. She questions Trubel about Nick, wondering why he took her in, and warned her that others will be extremely interested in her abilities. After the standard "tell no one" demands, she advises Trubel to think about what she said and lets her go - just in time to help Nick and Hank solve a new case.

At the opthamologist, we get a brief lesson in retinal cones and their function. It would appear that Nick was born with an extra cone or two - interesting thought when the doctor asks Nick if he can see things others cannot. Wink wink, nudge nudge. She also mentions that there is some swelling in the area that could be preventing light from triggering the cones. Sounds like a case of Adalind-itis to me. Nothing like some Hexenflammation to block your cones, right? I'm here all night, folks.

Enter Monrosalee! Our favorite newlyweds have a chat with Hank, telling him about Juliette's desire to keep the new and improved Nick, and ask to see Sean in hopes of finding the cure anyway. Mid-conversation we get to see Bud again - he's still as twitchy as ever, and terrified of Trubel. Hank and Monrosalee reassure him that Trubel is a good Grimm and then freak him out all over again when they tell him Nick is not any longer. Once Bud is gone, they head to the hospital.

Back to the Wesen of the week. One of the men who attacked Clay before the match wound up with a broken jaw, and the few hundreds Stan Kingston, Clay's manager, threw his way were not enough to appease him. He called and made threats, and soon learned that greed doesn't pay. Hank and Nick show up at a crime scene, and guess who they see? Bobby of the broken jaw is now sporting some very interesting fatal wounds, and the murder investigation leads our detectives to Stan's gym.

Sean, hanging out in his very non-hospital-issue jammies, tries to evade his mother's questions about the baby and is relieved when Rosalee and Monroe interrupt. Mama Elizabeth offers her services and accompanies them to Adalind's old hideout, where she samples the remnants of the Juliette potion and searches for the recipe. She needs a "clean" place to work on the antidote, so naturally they end up at the spice shop and Elizabeth tells Rosalee that she hopes they will have the ingredients she needs. Rosalee pretty much says, "Hexenbiest, please," and starts gathering.

Nick and Hank question Clay, Stan, and Abe, Clay's trainer. They feign surprise - or at least one of them does - when they are told Bobby is dead. Clay is upset, thinking that he did it - he hit Bobby too hard and wasn't exactly in control of his faculties when he headed out for the fight. Hank and Nick see him outside soon after, denting a dumpster in his guilty rage, and pick up Trubel to try and sort things out despite Nick's reluctance to involve her again.

Trubel goes undercover at the gym and chats up Clay, discovering that he doesn't even like to fight. Before she can find out more Stan lays into her for speaking to his prize boxer and tells her to get in the ring or get out of his gym. She faces off against a fierce-looking Wesen and wins, surprising Nick and Hank, who arrived just in time to see the fight after questioning Clay's very docile mother and then receiving a tip from Wu.

Stan isn't pleased to be questioned again, and he's even less pleased afterward when Clay tries to quit and Abe threatens to tell him the truth if Stan doesn't cancel the fight. The confrontation is well-timed as Trubel is lurking outside the door and confirms they are both Wesen, and she takes off with Nick and Hank to look the new creatures up in the trailer. Once she puts a name to a face, it's obvious that Stan is the killer - and as soon as they figure it out, they receive word that Abe has just turned up dead. Despite the poorly constructed suicide disguise, the wounds Stan inflicted are clear and they hurry to the gym to confront him.

Nick accuses Stan of the murders, and it's soon obvious that he's no longer a match for a Wesen. Trubel handles matters in the end and breaks his neck, but Nick prepares to take the heat for it and sends Trubel off to find Clay. She walks in on the tail end of a confrontation between Clay and his mother. In the trailer, Trubel speculated on the sort of Wesen Clay might be based on his natural ability to fight but an extreme reluctance to do so, and we now fully understand why Stan felt it was necessary to rile him up before a fight. We also learn that Clay's mother is not as sweet as she appeared to be when she reminds him that she ordered the beatings so that he would fight like he was born to do. Clay tries to tell her that the fighting is killing him inside, and she attacks Clay until Trubel intervenes, but before she can strike Trubel Clay stops her. He injures himself and forfeits the match. Poor kid.

Finally, what's Adalind up to this week? Hearing voices and shrieking at doors and rats, mostly. Her creepy neighbor gives her an escape tip and she finds him in the cell next door, looking pretty much how you'd expect him to look. He tells her he can help her, gives her some food, and leads her away through another secret passage. Not much Adalind time, but the previews indicate she'll be back next episode. The previews also show a new beast - some sort of a clay man - and word on the street is that the Monrosalee marriage is going to cause some trouble among those who don't agree with inter-Wesen relationships. This could explain the last scene, where we see two men watching the spice shop.

The more I see her, the more I'm really getting into Trubel's character. It should be interesting to see where her story goes, particularly now that we know Agent Chavez has plans for her. I'm also really enjoying Elizabeth and the subtle friction with Rosalee - more than one character with all the answers? How can it be?
