On this week's episode of BROOKLYN NINE-NINE, Jake has to figure out what put Holt in such a bad mood and Boyle catches his bank robber-at least he thinks so. Keep reading for the full recap! But as always, beware of SPOILERS!

Jake is briefing the team about his current perp, "The Dragon," but then Organized crime unit comes in and takes his case materials. Holt doesn't do anything to stop it and it is evident he is in a bad mood.

The team meets in the evidence room to discuss what might have made Holt mad. Terry pointed out the "Wednesday incident" Jake when Jake set off the sprinkler in Holt's office. Jake sets out to prove he isn't responsible for Holt's bad mood. Jake comes in on his day off and gets Gina to talk to Kevin, Holt's husband, to find out why Holt is in a bad mood. This leads them to retrace Holt's steps from that Wednesday morning: visiting Holt's diner, painting studio, and fencing class. This leads to Kevin finding out Holt hasn't been to fencing in a week, which leads him to become upset that Holt was lying to him.

This revelation makes things worse, so Jake sets out to find out what happened to Holt that Wednesday morning. After "being Holt" Jake is able to find a security camera that shows Holt being mugged. Jake goes to Holt's to tell Kevin, which leads Holt to telling them he wasn't mugged, but he fought off the muggers-getting stabbed in the process. This makes Kevin even more upset, and leads to Holt getting very angry with Jake. Jake resolves everything by finding the address of one of the muggers-which makes Holt happy and also allows him to come to the realization that he was upset with himself and taking it out on the precinct. All is right in the 9-9 again. Phew.

Meanwhile, Boyle caught his bank robber, who turns out to be an old man named Marvin. However, Rosa and Amy refuse to believe a sweet old man could rob banks, but when they are in private, Marvin confesses to Boyle. Boyle becomes frustrated that no one believes him. When Boyle is interrogating Marvin, he steps out to talk to Rosa and Marvin ends up dying. Boyle is frustrated that he wasn't able to prove he was right. Later on, however, Amy and Rosa apologize for not believing him because Marvin was the robber. They confirmed it by running the serial number from the dollar bill he gave Amy for giving him a soda.

Holt had a growing moment in this episode! With Jake's help-something we can't say too often-Holt realizes that he made a stupid decision by fighting off those robbers and getting himself stabbed and that instead of coming to terms with that fact and coming clean he took his anger out on the office, which was wrong of him. Holt was able to admit to his poor actions, and it was nice to see such a moment from him, since he usually is the moral authority on the show. Although Jake's methods were not for the purest of reasons, he was able to help Holt to this conclusion. It shows a lot of character for Holt to admit he was wrong and own up to his actions.

I also thoroughly enjoyed the Kevin-Gina-Jake dynamic in tonight's episode. Following Season 2's trend of pairing up unlikely groups, this pairing allowed for a lot of back and forth. From Jake's childlike personality, to Gina's sassy demeanor and Kevin's stoic attitude, watching them go back and forth was a lot of fun, and definitely something we won't see again for a long time. Kevin is such a great supporting character on the show, and I would love to see more from him.

Finally, "The Wednesday Incident" brought another great Boyle storyline. Watching him interact with Marvin, the old bank robber, was great. It allowed him to prove himself as a detective without Jake, who usually is by his side on a case. It also gave him a chance to have some great interactions with Rosa and Amy, who ultimately realized that he was right and caught the right guy. This episode definitely allowed Boyle to show his strong side and prove himself as a detective.

Favorite Moments from "The Wednesday Incident"

Jake: "El babosa actually means the slug."

Holt: "Look at this place, half eaten food, crumpled tissues, pictures of your family."

Holt: "Would you like me to click my heels together, or skip like a school child?"

Jake (impersonating Gina): "Oh em gee Jake, I owe you one."

Holt: "Goat! Goat! Jacket! Coat!"

Boyle: "You're going to jail, my friends, in a trolley named Charles."

Waitress: "Oh, Peralta, you are so old to behave how you do."

Jake: "Can I guess what he paints? Pictures of pie chars."

Rosa: "All smiling is horrible, this is worse."

Boyle: "Yeah, I might buy my shoes at a kids store, and yeah I might be scared of geese, but I am damn good cop and I will not be made a fool of."

Holt: "Peralta, you're a genius."

Jake: "367 paintings of one rock? This guy parties!"
