BWW TV World brings you another recap of SLEEPY HOLLOW! In case you missed last week's episode and need to get caught up, you can find that recap here!

SLEEPY HOLLOW opens this week's episode with a bank robbery! After learning that they are barred from visiting their former captain at the request of his lawyer, Henry Parish, Abby and Crane follow him to a bank where he uses an enchanted coin to make a bank employee rob the place.

Meanwhile, Jenny is being released from jail and has been sentenced to community service.

In a cut away scene before the main titles, we see a man who has found this enchanted coin making what looks like a bomb.

Back at the horseman's cottage, Katrina overhears more of his plans with Henry. Not much is revealed in this scene, but the next scene reveals quite a bit of backstory. Using Abby's login, Jenny learns the new police chief is the officer whose testimony was used to arrest her mother, and is the reason she and Abby were placed in foster care.

Using a lead they got from Jenny, Abby and Crane proceed to learn more about the enchanted coin. They meet a man named Nick Hawley (Matt Barr guest stars). While they are gathering information, a flower shop just a few blocks away is blown up by the bomb we saw being made earlier. It was placed in a box addressed to "Dad."

Abby and Crane are at the police station when Henry Parish arrives. He is representing the flower shop bomber. Abby and Crane have now identified the coin that is causing people to commit these terrible crimes. When she goes to retrieve it, she learns Henry has already replaced it with a standard quarter.

The new police chief also tells Crane that she can't find record of him existing, and that he has 24 hours to bring her identification.

Before a commercial break, we seen Henry slip the coin to Jenny mills. When the show picks up, we see Abby learning that Jenny has found the coin. She's worried that Jenny is going to try and kill her. After tracking Jenny using her resources at the police station, she learns that Jenny is going after the new captain - who is courting state officials on a hunting trip.

The episode picks up with Abby and Crane looking for Jenny in the woods with Nick - who gave them the information on the coin. Nick's intentions are unclear, but it appears as though he is trying to steal the coin for himself. They first spot the chief and a short distance away, Jenny. She is about to shoot when Abby steps in front of the gun. After a struggle - Jenny is pointing the gun at Abby who is offering to take the shot. Unsatisfyingly, the show cuts to a commercial.

After the commercial, with a little coaxing - Abby is able to get the gun away for Jenny. Nick, who has been after the coin from the start, takes it and flees. Back in town, Abby and Crane are reflecting in a bar and suddenly, Nick returns. He expresses his intentions to collect an entire set of enchanted coins for profit. Before he leaves, he gives Crane a false passport - which solves his identity issue.

This week's episode was a little lackluster, in my opinion. I'm usually a big fan of the SLEEPY HOLLOW side-plots, but felt like this week's just brought the action to a grinding halt. The story didn't really progress at all - and our characters are in the exact same circumstances we found them in earlier. Every new problem faced was easily resolved by the end of the episode. I'd much rather the writers focus more on moving the main story forward.

Of course, expensive CGI shots of the underworld and Moloch are expensive, so I understand the need for an episode like this one - but feel like this isn't the show SLEEPY HOLLOW fans are expecting when they tune in.

With declining ratings, I hope the writers are able to bring the show back to its basic format which audiences fell in love with during the first season - or the series may become at risk of not being renewed for a third season. With this being the second season and viewers dropping off, it's clear the show has lost a little bit of its charm.

What am I hoping to see next week? I hope they finally tackle the Crane/Katrina story line - as I can't bear the thought of having to watch one more identical, short cut away scene where the horseman and Katrina exchange a few passionate words, followed by the horseman leaving.
