Everyone is feeling growing pains as Mindy starts to get her new clinic off the ground and Shulman and Associates tries to get used to the new doctor. The struggle is real and at this rate, nobody is enjoying the change.
Mindy is experiencing first hand the pressure of opening up her fertility clinic when she can't seem to get any new patients due to her lack of experience. She begs Danny and the others to refer patients to her, but nothing is working. Finally, it is Morgan who comes through with good old Cousin Lou (Guest Star, Rob McElhenney) and his girlfriend. But even Lou is skeptical until Mindy lies and tells him that Danny was having trouble too and he managed to get Mindy pregnant. Morgan is uncomfortable with the lie, but eventually posts it online to attract a lot of attendees to a party at the clinic. Once Danny discovers the lie, he is all too ready to defend his manhood.
Tamra, Morgan and Beverly are not exactly bonding with Dr. Bergdahl (Guest Star, Dan Bakkedahl) as he mostly treats them as servants. When they complain to Jeremy and Danny about it, they speak to him, but that just makes Dr. B even meaner to them. Noticing his temper, the nurses finally throw down an ultimatum; it's either Dr. B or them. Jeremy complies and promptly fires him. However, they soon discover that Dr. B is living in his car and beg Jeremy to hire him back. Dr. B confesses that he is going through a divorce and doesn't want to get a place to live as that would be admitting that his marriage was over. He and the nurses call a truce and he comes back to work. Dr. B asks Mindy if he can crash at her apartment and in exchange he will refer patients to her. She agrees and tells Danny she is ready to move in together.
Because I worship Mindy Kaling so much, I will let the Kris Jenner thing slide, just this once. With so many great guest stars, I guess there are bound to be a few misses. However, I will sing the praises of Dan Bakkedahl. He makes for a good adversary and hopefully a great addition to the Shulman group. As much as I am happy that the nurses worked out their differences with the good doctor, I was hoping for a little bit more of their rivalry. It's always nice to see Morgan get in fight mode and Tamra and Beverly? I wouldn't want to meet either of them in a dark alley. And Hallelujah for the nurses to finally get a storyline. These there are always underused and I'm so happy that they were such a major part of this episode. It almost makes up for the Kris Jenner cameo. I still miss Peter.
I believe there are only a few episodes left this season and Mindy hasn't really begun showing yet. Are we going to do a time jump here? At this point, I think we're going to have to. With no word yet from FOX on whether or not we'll get a Season Four, I would imagine this season's finale will also have to be a tentative series finale. That would break my heart, but it's always a possibility until the official word comes down. With that in mind, will we see baby Castellano before the season ends? I can't imagine they would deprive the fans of that.
Lines I Love:
Jeremy - I cancelled cardio ballet for this?
Cousin Lou - I'm just doing my dude diligence and Sandra is doing her chick diligence.
Tamra - I've never felt this guilty before. And I'm the one who told De Blasio not to care what the Po Po thinks.
Danny - We were knockin' boots under the Lion King billboard. I guess we were a little Hakuna Matata about protection. I should of been more Matata.
Morgan - I'm pretty sure my grandma's my mom.
Dr. B - I do want to apologize to you Tania, and you too, Mervin and especially you, Madison. Beverly - Well, it's about time you learned our names.
