Last time we saw our time traveling trio on TIMELESS, they were fleeing the deserts of Nevada, chasing after a stolen atomic bomb core. Where do our good friends end up this week? Nazi Germany. Honestly, it was only a matter of time before Lucy, Wyatt, and Rufus made their way to Germany under Hitler's regime - and (naturally) encounter the man behind James Bond, Ian Fleming.

The show's been interesting enough up to now since we're still at a fairly early point in the season, but that logic only works for so long. There's a lot of backstory left to be explored, and essentially every question raised until now still begs for an answer. Unless we start focusing more on exactly why Flynn is frantically trying to dramatically alter history and focus less on Lucy's latest rendezvous with historical men, TIMELESS will start becoming pointless. Hopefully this week's trek through Germany can start turning this ship around!

Join me here and on Twitter @CourtHenley tonight at 10 PM EST as I live recap the newest episode of TIMELESS! We can all try and guess at Flynn's motive together.

10:05: The thought of someone giving Hitler an atom bomb is quite the way to start an episode.

10:15: And so the Ian Fleming romance begins. This time, though, it seems Rufus and Wyatt are the bigger fanboys than Lucy.

10:21: I have to admit, actual spy Ian Fleming is pretty awesome. And he seems like he'll be pretty dang useful in stopping the atom bomb from making its way to Hitler.

10:27: Wernher von Braun - to kill, or not to kill? Wyatt is 100% on the side of taking a shot at von Braun if necessary - after all, he created rockets for Nazi Germany. But he also contributed a ton to the American rocket program, which is why Lucy and Rufus disagree.

10:30: This is the most depth we've seen from these characters so far: Wyatt persuading Lucy to open up about what's bothering her, and Lucy revealing that she almost dropped out of college and almost died in a car crash.

Also, Wyatt's grandpa sounds amazing.

10:36: "James Bond's hitting on Lucy" might be the best line of the entire series so far.

Lucy's interrupted by Flynn. Darn her. Although, it is a good opportunity to interrogate Flynn about von Braun. Looks like Flynn wants to hand von Braun over to the Soviets so that they can win the war, make it to the moon first, and who knows what else. All Lucy knows is that Rittenhouse will benefit from von Braun being in the hands of the Soviets, and Lucy can't have that.

10:42: Woah! Now that's an explosion!

10:48: A secret network of underground tunnels designed to let priests escape in Nazi Germany - pretty clever!

Of course Wyatt knows of them from Skyfall.

Rufus identifies with von Braun, but all he can think about in regards to his creation is how it's hurting so many people. Von Braun makes a point, though: if he were thinking about that while he was creating it, he never would have completed it.

10:50: Ha, Lucy just shut down Ian Fleming!

10:55: Look at that - there's a "new" Bond movie starring our very own Lucy, Rufus, and Wyatt!

But back to important matters: Flynn now has a power source that will last him about 300 years without having to plug it in.

Mason is in deep with the Rittenhouse group. He needs Rufus's help now more than ever, but Rufus can't bring himself to continue lying to Lucy and Wyatt. Dilemma.

10:57: Lucy's laying down the law. Either Mason's people work on going back in time and fixing her timeline so her sister still exists, or Lucy walks. Period.

Oh, great. A mystery man. A Rittenhouse mystery man. The worst kind of mystery men. This guy is spooky. I don't like him. He's threatening Rufus's family - proof that Rittenhouse isn't exactly on the good side of this battle.

Next week, the travelers head to Wyatt's home state of Texas to visit the site of The Alamo. Seems like Flynn's after the entire state of Texas this time around. Frankly, I'm much more interested in Rittenhouse than I am Flynn at this point (although I know they're connected).

What did you think of tonight's episode? What would you do if you were Rufus: stay with Mason and Rittenhouse, or stand by your new friends and tell them the truth? Let us know in the comments below or tell me on Twitter @CourtHenley!
