Her visions are taking their toll on Zed (Angelica Celaya), the angel Manny (Harold Perrineau) is earthbound and John (Matt Ryan) would be John if he didn't try to take advantage of it in tonight's ep, "Angels and Ministers of Grace." Sit a spell, we'll catch you up.

We begin with a seemingly good girl (April Billingsley as Taylor) venturing on the wrong side of the tracks to score some drugs. She is going to shoot up, when she is attacked by a disfigured creature who plunges both syringes of drugs into her chest. The cops arrive, pronounce her dead (beaten to death) and suddenly her eyes shoot open and she gasps for breath.

At the magic cabin, Chas (Charles Halford) has sent John out to pick up supplies and John has returned without the cilantro. Guess their won't be any guacamole tonigh. John notices a ball of magical string and follows the trail of string to one of the many doors in the cabin. It opens into another world where Zed is mediatating (she uses the string to find her way back).

Manny takes control of Chas' body for a moment. John and Manny bicker back and forth. The darkness is growing, yada yada yada. John is still pissed that Heaven really doesn't have any skin in the game. Manny seems to prefer cryptic clues to actually helping in the battle against evil. Seems he wants John to investigate Taylor's resurrection. "Are you actually giving me a case or maybe --just maybe-- this is another form of manipulation in the form of angelic guidence," John asks, walking over to consult the stigmata map. Manny sets the map on fire. Angels are jerks.

Manny flies off. John tells Chas to get Zed and his biggest screwdriver. Chas asks why they need a screwdriver. And the next scene has John driving Chas' taxi to the emergency room. Chas emerges from the passenger side with said screwdriver in his thigh.

As doctors tend to Chas' wound, Zed and John snoop around the hospital. Zed touches Taylor and has a vision of white light and possibly and angel. Taylor goes into cardiac arrest and as doctors are trying to save her life, Zed has a seizure right near her.

While doctors are testing Zed, Chas and John visit the morgue. John noticed black veins (somehow missed by the doctors) and things there might be something supernatural about it. John does a spell. Taylor is all dark matter, no spark of life at all (even dead things still have a spark). He dispatches Chas back to the cabin to read up on it.

John returns to Zed's hospital room. There is a small mass on Zed's temporal lobe. She's pretty sure it's a tumor. Doctors want to do a biopsy. Zed begins to doubt her visions are psychic.

In another wing of the hospital, a janitor sneaks into a supply room and takes a few swigs of alcohol from a bottle he has stashed. He's attacked by the creature who attacked Taylor.

On the hospital rooftop, John is having a cig. A doctor comes up to bug one off him. The doctor is soon possessed by Manny. John is pissed that Manny might have known about the tumor all this time and said nothing. John smashes a vial, releasing gas from Hades. Manny faints. John casts a spell to keep Manny earthbound.

Manny and John investigate the janitor's murder. Manny is squemish. John cracks the guy's chest open to reveal a dark heart. It has a fragment from the black diamond. The diamond was wielded by a powerful sorcerer until on of the angels smashed it into pieces and God created the great flood to scatter the pieces all over the world.

John returns to the cabin. Chas has come up empty in his research. John delivers the bad news about Zed and then retrieves a box containing a fragment of the black diamond. He wants Chas to become possessed by it. He witnesses the results and then shocks Chas to get him to drop the stone.

Back at the hospital, Manny is trying to do some investigation, but ends up flirting and making out with a news in one of the other supply rooms. John returns and promptly smells the woman's perform on Manny. Of course, he teases him about it. Still, Manny has found some information. Both victims were addicts (drugs and alcohol) who fell off the wagon.

Manny pays Zed a bedsite visit. She immediately thinks she is dying and he is there to claim her soul. He tells her John has grounded him and Manny is cut off from all his powers. She is toying with not having the surgery, wondering if her gifts are truly good or evil. Manny convinces her that it is divine.

John, meanwhile, has been trailing a guy who was also in the emergency room seeking treatment. Turns out the guy isn't the killer, though. It's Zed's doctor. Wounded in the war, the doctor thought it was a piece of shrapnel, but it is actually part of the black diamond. John uses the other piece to draw the part out, but before the two pieces can join, the doctor pushes John out of the way. John, Manny and Zed go running after him. The spell on Manny runs out and Manny vacates the body, leaving Zed and John to battle the super-human strengthed doctor. The doctor again knocks the fragment from John's hands. John begs for divine intervention and, for once, Manny intercedes. The doctor is attracted to Manny's angelic light and Manny ushers the doctor's sould to heaven.

In a church, Zed prayes. John enters and reveals he begins each day meditating on the thought that everyone he cares about is dead, so when it actually happens it won't hurt as much. Zed realizes she is one of those people now. Manny arrives. Zed can see him now. Zed asks him again if her powers are from God. Manny replies "I'm here, aren't I." John lights a cigarette with one of the prayer candles (nice!) as Zed stares at Manny with awe.

And with that, the spellbook closes. Next week is the epic season finale. Let us know what you think. Comment below and follow me @triggercric and follow @BWWTVWorld for all the latest updates, scoops and recaps.
