Detective Jim Carrigan (the future Spectre, played by Emmitt J. Scanlan) asks John (Matt Ryan) and Zed (Angelica Celaya) to help save a missing little girl in the season finale, "Waiting for the Man." Sit a spell. We'll get you caught up.

We open on a man waking three girls telling them he needs help with on his wedding night. Elswehere, a red haired girl (Annaliese Basso) walks in a park beneath a blood red moon (that can't be good). She comes upon a carnival swing ride. A creepy guy approaches her. He is chased off by the three girls. They tell the new girl they are all married to him. Their wedding rings? Strangulation marks (you were expecting bands of gold?).

Elsewhere, "The Man" (J.D. Evermore) is in his truck. A cop approaches the verhicle. The Man explains the battery is dead. The cop offers to help him jump it. The Man uses the jumper cables to strangle the cop.

In a New Orleans bar, Carrigan briefs Zed and Constantine. The cop was found mummified the same night a third girl went missing. It also happens to have been the night of a lunar event. John obviously recognizes the supernatural is afoot.

In a home, The Man is chastising another victim for making him miss his own wedding. He grabs a blow torch and heats up a branding iron.

At the grave of the cop, John exhumes the body, sprinkles holy water on it and it reveals the branding mark much like we saw in the last scene. It's the devil's branding irons. They were used during the Inquisition. Oh, and Zed touches Corrigan again and sees him as The Spectre.

Of course, John states the obvious: it's all tied into the blood moon. The body suddenly rises. Gary Lester (John's mate who died a few eps back) warns John that there's a bounty on his head.

At Papa Midnite's lair, Midnite (Michael James Shaw) tells a guy he needs his help to claim the bounty on John. The guy readily agrees. Midnite stabs him saying "a life for a life."

The Man's future bride, the red haired girl wakes up in an abandoned room. Meanwhile, Det. Corrigan, John and Zed visit with the red haired girl's mom (who has filled a missing persons).

The girl, meanwhile, looks around the house. It's right out of a horror movie: flies everywhere, symbols written in blood on the walls, etc. The three girls find her. She tells them her name: Vesta Whitney.

At the Whitney home, John prods Zed to see if she has any visions from touching the girl's things. He asks her what she is hiding. She mentions her visions of Corrigan. Corrigan enters and Zed retreats downstairs to the kitchen. Manny (Harold Perrineau) momentarily possesses Vesta's mom. Zed tells him she doesn't know if she should warn Corrigan or not. Manny tells her he envies her. He has rules. Humans have choices. Manny disappears.

In the bathroom, John collects hair from Vesta's brush. He casts a spell. He sees through Vesta's eyes and now knows where she is being kept.

Back at the house. the three girls are preparing Vesta for her wedding. She tells them she wishes they could do something about the smell and they tell her she won't notice it once she's married. This is creepy on so many levels.

At Midnite's lair, the man he killed comes back as a voodoo zombie. Papa Midnite takes dust from a burned doll fashioned in John's likeness and has the zombie breath it in. His sole purpose now is to reduce John to dust.

At the scene of another cop's murder, John looks for clues. Zed touches Corrigan again and sees him dead and as The Spectre. She tells him they should catch up with John. Which is a good thing as John has found the carnival from earlier. And so has the zombie. He knocks John around quite a bit. Corrigan shoots the zombie in the back (it has no effect) and then in the head (it's super effective). John tells Zed to get her crap together, push passed whatever is blocking her and help him find the girl fast.

Zed does. She sees the dead cop writing an address in blood. The Man shoves the hot branding iron in her face, ending the vision. She has an address, though. 4 Delano Street (a hat tip to Jamie Delano, who wrote most of the first 40 Hellblazer comic books on which the show is based).

Not to be deterred, Midnite uses some of the Constantine ash on a crow and tells the bird to be his eyes.

John, Corrigan and Zed speed in a car over to the address. Corrigan asks Zed if her visions are ever wrong. She tells him no.

The crow has beat them to the address. John sees it (I'm guessing he senses Midnite). They find the second cop, dead and crucified. John tells Corrigan the bounty hunters are coming and to leave and keep Zed safe.

The Man returns home to find the three girls and his latest bride waiting. He grabs her. Candles blow out. The other girls vanish into thin air.

Midnite arrives at the house where John is. He shoots John. He tells John a life for a life. John tells him no one has that kind of power but the Brujeria. Midnite shoots John in the head. The body morphs into that of the cop. It was all a spell. John springs into action from the shadows and knocks Midnite out.

Vesta, meanwhile, gets cold feet at the altar. The Man tries to strangle her. She knocks over a candle and runs. The place catches fire.

John enters the house. He goes up into the bedroom seen earlier. He pulls back the covers to reveal the three rotting corpses of The Man's previous brides (yep, the girls who Vesta met are ghosts).

The Man has followed Vesta out of the burning church. She hides in a carnival ride. The Man finds her and drags her back home, but they are stopped by John and crew. Zed beats The Man with a shovel. Corrigan handcuffs the guy. John asks Corrigan what would happen if a demon like The Man should get away and make a run for it. Corrigan uncuffs the guy. He runs.

We cut to Zed leading Vesta to safety. We hear the sounds of a gun shot.

Midnite wakes up in the house just as the police arrive.

Later, in a bar, Zed comes clean with Corrigan. She tells him she sees him dead. She doesn't know how it will happen, but it will happen. He tells her he'll have to make every moment count. He kisses her. John arrives to see the kiss.

John leaves to take a piss under an underpass (well, he's also kind of jealous). Manny arrives. He tells John they can win this war. John tells Manny he plays to win and is trying to figure out what he will do with his time once he drives every last demon back to hell. This seems to worry Manny.

Midnite is sitting in a police car. Manny shows up and the cuffs fall from Midnite's hands. He tells Midnite to cancel the hit on John. Midnite asks him if Manny works for the Brujeria. Manny tells him that the Brujeria works for him. Manny spreads his wings a flys away. Clearly, one of the fallen.

So much left unanswered. With 13 be lucky for fans of the show? Or will John's adventures end with tonight's episode? Make your voice be heard if you love the show. Comment below and follow me @triggercric and follow @BWWTVWorld for all the latest updates, scoops and recaps.
