A line is literally drawn in the sand as Ollie (aka Green ARROW, played by Stephen Amell) proceeds with his plans to clean up Star City bay as Damien Dahrk (Neal McDonough) retaliates in the most bloody way possible. We've got a quiver of ammo and our eye on the target, we'll get you caught up.

Ollie forges ahead with his plans to clean up the bay. A slew of Star City citizens have turned out to assist. Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) instructs a group of school kids on why it is important to clean up the bay. She meets her mini me. It's too cute for words. A drone appears and opens fire on the civilians. Team ARROW is safe, but Ollie is pissed.

He decides to out Damien Darhk as the man behind the ghost, H.I.V.E. and the drone firing on innocent people. Damien is less than thrilled to be dragged into the bright light of day.

Will this stop Ollie's holiday party for his campaign? Heck no. Felicity's mom is busy making sure that Felicity's Jewish heritage is well represented at said party and while going through boxes of lights, she stumble upon the engagement ring. Mom and daughter share a moment as they figure the proposal can happen anytime soon.

Thea (aka Speedy, played by Willa Holland) is preparing for the party when her dad Malcolm (John Barrowman) shows up to again caution her. Damien Darhk is supernatural and Malcolm --who heads up the League of Assasins-- is frightened by him. She pinky swears to avoid Damien.

At the party, Curtis (aka Mr. Terrific, played by Echo Kellum) arrives with his husband Paul (Chenier Hundal). Felicity compliments him on landing such a hottie. All is right in the world.

Felicity suspects that the ring will be in the souffle and rushes off to find her mom. Donna is busy romancing with Det. Quentin Lance (Paul Blackthorne). Donna introduces Q as her boyfriend. He seems shocked that they are already at the bf gf stage.

Felicity decides to confront Ollie about the engagement ring. Before he can explain things, Damien and some ghost arrive on the scene. So much of denying your involvement. He throws Ollie through an office window and kidnaps Thea, Felicity and Diggle (David Ramsey).

Ollie awakens, tells his campaign manager Alex Davis (Parker Young) to get everyone else to safety (using campaign funds to pay for any hospital bills) and then goes off to find Damien.

As Green ARROW, he seems especially charged, beating up ghosts to extract info on his best friend (Diggle), his only surviving relative (Thea) and his soon-to-be fiancee (Felicity). It fails to yield any info and he begins his usual self-flagellation back at the compound. Laurel (aka Black Canary, played by Katie Cassidy) tells him they all knew what they were signing up for.

At the precinct, Laurel confronts her dad (she doesn't know that he has been acting as a covert spy for Team ARROW and thinks instead that he is working with Damien). He tries to maintain his cover, but then rolls over and tells her Ollie knew about it.

Ollie summons both of them back to the compound before they can get too into it. Malcolm arrives soon after. He's pissed that his daughter Thea is in danger. He tosses them a H.I.V.E. burner phone, but Ollie advises without Team ARROW's resident tech guru Felicity, the phone has little use. He decides to give himself up over to Ollie.

Meanwhile, a host of H.I.V.E. baddies are in town and pissed that Damien seems to be more concerned with a personal vendetta than forwarding project Genesis (whatever that is). Ollie phones him using that burner phone and Damien tells his bosses it is going to get interesting.

Ollie goes back with Damien. Damien gasses a follower to death in a chamber and Ollie seems to know that his friends are next.

Q confronts Malcolm to wonder why Malcolm hasn't brought the League to save his daughter. Malcolm tells him he can't afford to pit the League against H.I.V.E. I am left wondering what Malcolm's endgame is. Laurel is the only one left of Team ARROW. Q wants to go with her, but she goes it alone.

Ollie has a moment with Felicity. She tells him there is no way that Damien is going to let them go for Ollie and she is right. The ghost bring Ollie and Felicity into the gas chamber room. Thea and Diggle are in the chamber. The put Felicity in the chamber, too. The gas begins to fill the chamber. Black Canary and Green ARROW (not Ollie, so I'm not sure who is standing in for him) arrive. She lets out a trademark scream and the pair spring into action.

All three are sprung from the death trap and Thea fills us in: Malcolm is dressed as Green ARROW. He runs after Damien and fires an arrow at him. Damien stops the arrow before it hits him and admonishes Green ARROW for not learning anything (seeing as he has done this trick before). Malcolm as ARROW tells him he's learned something. The arrow suspended in mid-air explodes, sending a surprised Damien flying backwards.

Black Canary, meanwhile, is trying to get Team ARROW to safety. Prison cells open up and rather than flee to freedom, the prisoners (no doubt under Damien's mind control) rush to attack. They are hopelessly outnumbered even with Canary's scream. They all fight (including Felicity, who has managed to pick up a pipe and knows how to use it). Q arrives with the police, defying his daughter's orders. She's glad to see him, though.

Damien is beating the snot out of Ollie. Malcolm (as ARROW) fires one shot and it lands true --right in Damien's chest. He tells Ollie to run and then, for good measure, plants another exploding arrow by Damien. Damien chants a spell, though. Something tells me he's going to survive the explosion.

Back at the compound, Felicity agrees with me. There's no body, so Damien is most likely still alive. Diggle says that they at least stopped whatever he was planning for the time being. Felicity tells Laurel they are late for the thing they have been planning. Ollie seems shocked and Felicity tells him he isn't the only one who can keep a secret.

Damien is indeed alive. He is leading his bosses to below the blown up building. There is an underground corn field. He tells them the air is completely breathable. The bosses want to know what Damien is going to do about mayoral candidate Oliver North.

The surprise is a tree lighting ceremony. Standard political fare. Ollie drops down on one knee to propose to Felicity, though. They are in a happy mood in a limo afterwards. Ghosts fire several rounds into the limo. Ollie shields Felicity. The driver is killed. Ollie climbs into the front seat and drives the limo to safety. He climbs out of the limo and heads to the back door. He pulls Felicity's seemingly lifeless body from the backseat.

The promos for the next ep on Jan. 20th seem to suggest that it is Felicity's grave that Ollie was kneeling at in the first ep of the season, but I'm still not buying it. We'll see on Jan. 20th, won't we? Thoughts? Comment below and follow me @triggercric and follow @BWWTVWorld for all the latest updates, scoops and recaps.
