The tower has tumbled and all of our survivors are in peril. As we bring the first half of Season Six to a close, will everyone make it out alive? I guess that is a silly question, the word "dead" is in the title of the show.

Yes, mere minutes after the tower comes down, Rick springs into action. He rescues Deanna who tumbles and injures herself as he joins a small group including Michonne, Father Gabriel, Ron and Carl. As they are running, they become surrounded by walkers. It is Jessie who saves them as they take refuge in her house. As Rick and Michonne tend to Deanna's wound, they also find a bite and with that, we know our Alexandria leader's fate is sealed.

Glenn and Enid watch from afar, helpless, as Glenn still plays Dad in trying to convince Enid to find something to live for. Rosita and Tara are able to rescue Eugene and run to safety. Tara counsels the both of them into finding strength as Eugene finally comes in handy and is able to pick a lock to the backdoor for them to escape.

Carol and Morgan are locked together after Carol suffers an injury. But she dramatizes that a bit as she makes a break for the cellar to see what Morgan has been hiding. There she discovers Doctor Denise who is with the Wolf prisoner. And the time has come for Morgan and Carol to come to blows about their different styles in dystopian Alexandria. A battle ensues and ends with Morgan knocking out Carol and the wolf knocking out Morgan and taking Doctor Denise prisoner. As Tara, Rosita and Eugene arrive to try and save them, the wolf escapes with Doctor Denise. Will be interesting to see if any of the Morgan and/or Denise therapy worked on this dude.

However, back at Jessie's, Ron who is still all butt hurt about his Dad attacks Carl in the garage, a fight so brutal that they break a window and attract the walkers. As they break into the house, the survivors are trapped and have to go back to an old method of slathering themselves in guts to walk through the dead. And that is where the episode leaves us with Michonne, Gabriel, Rick, Jessie, Judith, Carl, Ron and Sam walking slowly through the swarm. Sam, please hold all questions until the end, for Pete's sake... (See what I did there?)

Deanna decided not to take death lying down, which was pretty cool and to face the walkers head on. It looked, for a moment, that she would take her own life, instead, she turned the gun on the walkers. Farewell, Deanna... tell Reg hello for all of us. And maybe I'm being nitpicky, but why don't they have to slather the guts on their heads? Jessie's gleaming blonde hair or Carl's stupid hat doesn't detract from the smell?

This entire season has taken place in one day. ONE day! For me, there were very few misses this year thus far. The Morgan vs. Carol storyline in particular is one of my favorites as it's almost come down to good vs. evil, except, we don't know which is which. They're two of my favorite characters and the problem is, they are both right. Also, for all you Carl haters out there, you have GOT to admit that Ron is way worse and Carl finally stepped up and did something about it. I was so glad that confrontation went down like it did. Stupid Ron...

And did we know that Glenn knew that Maggie was pregnant or was that new information tonight that he was aware? I was still surprised when he said it. And I am still very happy that Steven Yeun will be around still... even if we don't know for how much longer.

So, not as much as death as expected, but they were certainly not shy with the cliffhangers, as every single storyline is up in the air. Also, where were Aaron and his boyfriend, Eric (is he even still around?) and Spencer? And no sign of Daryl, Abraham or Sasha? UNLESS, you watched the tag in INTO THE BADLANDS. Yes, clever marketing there, but don't worry, I have it here:

No big surprise there, Negan is the leader of the Saviors. Guess we know the Big Bad for the Spring. That plot point aside, we are all left feeling like Glenn seeing his wife stranded on top of a wobbly tower surrounded by zombies... not knowing what is to come next.

See you in February!!!
