Greetings, Grimmsters! I've been on vacation the last couple of weeks but I'm all caught up now. It would appear that a new royal is in town, just when Adalind was hoping to trick Victor into bed and pass off the pregnancy as his. She tells the new bloke it's Victor's baby anyway, as he soon discovers she's expecting, but it's not clear whether he's buying it or not. Adalind wants to kill Juliette, Juliette wants to kill Adalind... and these are the days of our lives.
We start with a scene involving Hank kicking the crap out of Nick, then changing into some sort of creature. What the what? But before we can get any answers, we go back a few days and join Monroe, Rosalee, Hank, and Nick as they discuss the Juliette situation. Nick takes off, hoping to find Juliette, and Rosalee throws shade on Henrietta and her proclamation that the hexen-snafu is irreversible. Let's be real here - until potions are brewed at the Spice Shop and Rosalee has researched multiple dusty old tomes, nothing is impossible. Speaking of Juliette, while Rosalee is determined to hit the books, our favorite baby hexenbiest decides to hit the bar and stir up some trouble. Might Nick need to come to the rescue?
A school janitor is attacked by some sort of glowing creature - the same sort we saw Hank become. Is Hank up to no good? Maybe or maybe not, since Hank doesn't appear to know anything when he arrives on the scene with Nick and Wu. Or perhaps we can't see any shifty eyes since he's too busy checking out Deputy Farris. Remember her, several episodes back? Possible love interest for Hank? Well, she's back, and she fills the boys in on the investigation. They chat with the principal and discover the janitor was perhaps involved in some racial slurs against a Native American student, Simon George. As it happens, Deputy Farris was once married to a man in the same tribe and tags along when they go looking for Simon. They discover the late janitor had a bit of a criminal record and that Simon was in foster care as a minor following his father's murder.
Just as they are wrapping up their research, Wu arrives to tell Nick that Juliette has been arrested. He hurries down to see her and tells her he's not prepared to give up on her, but she's not having it. She tells him that part of her loves her new identity and doesn't want to go back. She's sounding just a little bit like the cheese may have slipped off her cracker, and Nick tells her he's not letting her out.
Hank and Farris head to the reservation in search of Simon and speak to Hector, who tells them Simon is out on a power quest, in search of his guardian spirit. He also tells them about the death of Simon's father, describing it as a hate crime. Hank receives a call from Nick, who tells him there has been another murder, killed in similar fashion to the last.
Simon definitely finds something on his quest, but it appears to be a creature who likes to rip out the throats of certain individuals, and it's the same thing we saw Hank turn into in the first scene. Nick and Hank find him just in time, as he's attacking Max McClay. Hank is disturbed when he can see the creature - does that mean it's not Wesen-related? Farris recommends they see Hector again to discuss what they might have seen. Hector confirms that they have seen a Mishipeshu, and as they wonder if Simon has been possessed he tells them they must enter the dream world if they wish to find Simon.
Hector determines that it's probably dangerous for Nick to participate in the ritual and Hank decides to go alone. It isn't long until he's there, reliving Simon's memory of watching his father die, and Nick realizes the men who were attacked are the men who killed Simon's father. Before he can return to himself, Hank runs off in a hypnotic rage. He finds Simon at his father's grave and the Mishipeshu spirit jumps from Simon to Hank... and now the intro makes sense.
They track Hank to McCray's house and try to reason with the spirit while the spirit tries to choke Nick, but thanks to Hector and some magic dust Hank returns to himself. Disturbed, Hank describes what happened to him and then confronts McCray, but they have no real evidence and can't arrest him without possibly tying Simon to the other murders. Never fear, though, McCray meets the same death as his friends at the end - with Farris as the host for the Mishipeshu.
Next week Adalind tells Nick her good news and Juliette is bailed out by Kenneth, the newest royal. She also discovers Adalind's good news and wants to kill her just a little bit more than usual. So what do you think? Will Juliette and Nick ever reconcile? What's going to happen now that Nick's about to discover his impending fatherhood? Let me know in a comment below or on Twitter at @GoddessTiff with your thoughts, and don't forget to follow @BWWTVWorld while you're there to stay up to date on your favorite shows. In the meantime, check out this clip of some of Grimm's best woge scenes, both because it's cool and because I can now spell woge.
