This week, BWW will be asking our readers to predict the winners for the 65th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards, airing Sunday, September 22nd (8:00 - 11:00 PM ET / 5:00 - 8:00 PM PT) on CBS. Be sure to visit BroadwayTVWorld for complete live coverage of the broadcast!
The group of actors nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy includes some of the biggest names of stage and screen. The six nominees have previously received 32 nominations, including four wins; two for 30 ROCK's Alec Baldwin and two for the BIG GANG THEORY's Jim Parsons.
The notoriously tempermental Baldwin is been seen on Broadway in five shows over the the last 27 years, including his Tony nominated role in 1992's A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE, and this year's ORPHANS. In addition, Baldwin is a generous supporter of the arts, donating the proceeds from his Capital One commercial appearances to various arts organizations.
Parsons has graced the Great White Way twice in recent years (in 2011's THE NORMAL HEART and in last fall's HARVEY revival). Parsons will recreate his NORMAL HEART performance as Tommy Boatwright in the upcoming, star-studded HBO adaptation.
