BUCKWILD Producers Return to Appalachia with WEST VIRGINIA WILDER Set to Launch This Summer Image

The Executive Producers who created MTV's smash hit reality show Buckwild are currently in production on a new project, West Virginia Wilder slated to launch this summer. The series is a comedic follow-doc about a group of hard working and fearless teens & twenty-somethings. Production is currently filming in both Morgantown and Charleston.

Outperforming its predecessor, Jersey Shore, Buckwild scored as the highest rated Thursday cable show in the sought after 12-34 demo in its freshman season. The original producing team has gone back to Appalachia where it all began. Executive Producers JP Williams, Jennifer Novak-Riker, and John Stevens believe the project and new cast, including Spencer Tarley ("Tar") related to Buckwild's late Shane Gandee, are the next breakout stars of the reality genre. Novak-Riker added "We are always searching for interesting characters across the country and when we recently went to Morgantown, we struck gold. The female cast members are strong and dynamic and lead this wild bunch, which is refreshing to see."

About the Producers -

Parallel Entertainment Pictures:

In response to its overwhelming success in managing many of the top comedic talent over the years, Parallel Entertainment formed Parallel Entertainment Pictures in 2004, with the goal of developing feature film and TV projects with wide audience appeal. The first project under the Parallel Entertainment Pictures umbrella was the extremely successful Blue Collar Comedy Tour Rides Again. Since then, they have produced countless one-hour televised comedy specials and several feature films and TV series, including Larry The Cable Guy: Health Inspector, MTV's Buckwild, and Slednecks, History's Only In America, GSN's The American Bible Challenge, and Showtime's White Famous, among many others.

HANGAR 56 Media:

Since starting in 2016, H56 has already produced for Amazon, FOX, ABC, History, Paramount, Redbull, Discovery, GSN and E!. Founder John Stevens started as an intern on Letterman before he went on to produce reality television. Stevens previously co-owned ZOO Productions where he created Girls Behaving Badly (launching the careers of Ken Jeong and Chelsea Handler), ARE YOU SMARTER THAN A 5TH GRADER? with Jeff Foxworthy, and produced more than 100 episodes of MTV's Spring Break. Other recent credits include Perfect Road with Magnus Walker, Buckwild, SLEDNECKS and GRITS. He sold ZOO Productions to ALL3 Media in 2009 before co-founding H56 with Spike Feresten.
