Has Khloe Kardashian been 'X'ed' out of the next season of Fox's X FACTOR? According to the NY Post, sources reveal that the reality star has not been asked to return in her role as host of the singing competition. Confirms the insider, "They are asking Mario [Lopez] to come back, but not Khloe."
Throughout the second season of the show, the 28-year-old had received harsh criticism of her hosting abiliites including comments that her lack of experience made her appear "nervous and unprepared" on the live format.
LA hosting expert Marki Costello shared her views on today's news commenting, "I am sure there was a big percentage of Khloe's fans who followed her to 'X Factor. But at the end of the day, when she doesn't know what she is doing, are you helping your show or hurting it?" "It was really hard for me to watch Mario with her," she continued. "It made me, as a viewer, almost uncomfortable."Kardashian will not be the only member of the 'X Factor' team not returning for next season. Last month, judge Britney Spears officially announced that she would be leaving the show while two-time judge L.A. Reid announced his departure last December. The record exec explained that he wanted to spend more time focusing on his job as head of Epic Records.
Simon Cowell, the show's creator, must now scramble to restaff the series prior to the upcoming third season. Rumors have surfaced that British singer Cheryl Cole, who was originally cut from the show's first season, is in talks to appear on the judge's panel for Season 3. The singer, who was a judge on the U.K. version of "X Factor", had previously filed a $2.3 million lawsuit against the series, claiming she was still owed money after being fired just a few weeks into the first season.
Cowell has recently admitted he has regrets over the decision to let Cole go last year. "I had to apologize for the way it was handled," he told reporters.
A spokesperson for X Factor commented, "The producers have not yet made the talent decisions for this year."Videos
