Deadline writes that Breaking Bad's Bryan Cranston, who is currently starring onstage in A.R.T.'s ALL THE WAY in Cambridge, will lead the upcoming indie drama TRUMBO, based on the life of blacklisted writer Dalton Trumbo, directed by Jay Roach. Production is slated to kick off in 2014.

A renowned Hollywood screenwriter, Trumbo was sent to prison in 1950 for refusing to answer to Congress' House UnAmerican Activities Committee. Upon his release, Trumbo went on to win two Oscars under fake names.

John McNamara wrote the script and is producing with Groundswell Productions' Michael London.

Cranston's upcoming projects include Get a Job, Cold Comes the Night, Godzilla and Kung Fu Panda 3. Aside from his Emmy-winning portrayal as 'Walter White' on AMC's Breaking Bad, Cranston's TV credits include Fallen, Malcolm in the Middle, The King of Queens, Clerks, Seinfeld and more. On the big screen, the actor has recently appeared in Argo, Total Recall, Rock of Ages and Contagion.
