Carmona (18-1-4, 11 KO) will attempt to retain his belt with a former champion such as Mexico's own Jose Luis Bueno as the new trainer on his corner. Carmona was named 2012's "Surprise of the Year" by Mexico City's Boxing Commission, is undefeated in his last 13 bouts and will fight on "Boxeo Telemundo" for the third time in his career. The young boxer will have the advantage of performing in front of his hometown crowd as he faces his countryman from Guadalajara. Carmona's only defeat in his career came at the hands of Fernando Curiel, but he avenged that loss on April 13 of this year with a knockout in the third round to obtain the win.
