NBC DEPORTES presents the third fight of the "Boxeo Telemundo Ford" summer season, in which Mexican Ricardo "Meserito" Rodríguez will take on Floridian Daniel "Alacrán" Lozano in ten rounds for the OMB Latin Super Flyweight title from the A La Carte Pavilion in Tampa, Florida, tonight, July 31 at 11:35PM/10:35C, on Telemundo and on the digital platforms of NBCDeportes.com and NBC Deportes EN VIVO EXTRA mobile apps. Veteran ringside sportscaster René Giraldo, together with Édgar López and his singular style, will narrate all of the excitement of this decisive fight.
Ricardo "Meserito" Rodríguez (18-3 10KO) comes to this clash after winning the WBC's Interim Bantamweight title following his seventh-round
KNOCKOUT victory in March over Puerto Rican Jonathan "Pitbull" Vidal. He held three fights in 2014 in which he won two, one against another "Scorpion", Ricardo Alvarado, and another against Puerto Rico's Edwin Rodríguez, a fight that led him to sport the belt of the WBC FECARBOX Super Flyweight title. His only defeat in 2014 came at the hands of David "Severo" Carmona, in an intense ten-round decision which favored his opponent.
Daniel "Alacrán" Lozano, for his part, will have to demonstrate that his defeat to David "Severo" Carmona, in the only fight he has held in 2015, will not be an obstacle and put his aspirations to this title in jeopardy. In 2014 he engaged in two bouts, winning both. In August, he won the WBO Interim Latin Super Flyweight title after knocking out Mexican Antonio Tostado in the eighth round. In October, he reached another important milestone by winning the WBO Latin Super Flyweight crown by dealing Puerto Rican Jonathan "Pitbull" Vidal a hook to the liver in the fourth round.
On August 7, in the last fight of the season, Mexican Alejandro "Payasito" Hernández will fight vs Isao Carranza, from Veracruz, in a 12-round fight for the WBC's Mexico National Junior Featherweight title, at 11:35PM/10:35C from the Auditorio Blackberry in the Mexican capital.
