"BoxeoTelemundo Ford," the number one boxing show on US television regardless of language, culminates its successful 25th anniversary year with the fourth fight of the fall 2014 season: the WBC FECARBOX Super Flyweight title match, pitting Mexican-American Ricardo "Meserito" Rodríguez against Puerto Rico's Edwin Rodríguez, this Friday, October 24th at11:35PM/10:35C. Veteran boxing commentators René Giraldo and Jessi Losada will bring viewers all the details of this stellar encounter at the Kissimmee Civic Center in Florida.

Ricardo Rodríguez (9-2, 3 KO) takes to the ring for the third time in 2014. He beat Ricardo "Alacrán" Alvarado by decision in March. On July 25th he faced David "Severo" Carmona. It was the first time in his career that he fought more than six rounds. That night "Meserito" fell just short in his attempt to capture Carmona's for the WBO World Youth Super Flyweight Title, but the experience learned was of value, and secured him a second shot at a title Friday night.

The October 24th fight will be the third this year for Edwin Rodríguez (7-2, 4 KO), as well. The Juana Díaz, Puerto Rico native had his last fight on July 28 against Luis Ortiz, beating him for the second time in his career. Earlier this year, on March 23rd, he defeated Héctor González by decision. Rodriguez won all three of his fights in 2013, against Joseph Santos (KO in the second round), Jean Carlos Molina (KO in the first), and Luis Ortiz (by decision in the sixth). He also had an outstanding amateur career, defeating 2012 Olympian Félix Verdejo on one occasion. Verdejo is now an unbeaten professional, and seen as the future of Puerto Rican boxing.
