BLACK-ISH Teams Up with The Shoe Surgeon to Customize Five Pairs of Sneakers to Celebrate Its National Syndication Launch Image

The critically acclaimed hit family comedy series "black-ish" announced today that it has teamed up with prolific designer and influencer Dominic Ciambrone, also known as The Shoe Surgeon, to customize five pairs of "black-ish" branded sneakers. Playing off of Johnson family patriarch Dre's fondness for Nikes, the five unique pairs of sneakers were exclusively designed and constructed by The Shoe Surgeon to celebrate the launch of "black-ish" in national Syndication five nights a week, beginning Monday, Sept. 17, 2018. All five pairs will be included in a prize package posted on Omaze, an online fundraising platform, with proceeds benefitting Boys & Girls Clubs of America.

The "Kick it with The Johnsons" online campaign kicks off on Omaze on Friday, Sept. 14, and will conclude on Oct. 26, at which time a grand prize winner will be randomly selected. In addition to the full set of five custom pairs of "black-ish" branded kicks, the prize package will also include a trip for two to Los Angeles to attend a "black-ish" table read and a meet and greet with members of the cast, as well as a tour of the iconic Walt Disney Studios lot in Burbank, California.

The Emmy® and Golden Globe®-nominated comedy "black-ish" takes a fun yet bold look at one man's determination to establish a sense of cultural identity for his family. The series stars Anthony Anderson as Andre "Dre" Johnson, Tracee Ellis Ross as Rainbow Johnson, Yara Shahidi as Zoey Johnson, Marcus Scribner as Andre Johnson, Jr., Miles Brown as Jack Johnson, Marsai Martin as Diane Johnson, Laurence Fishburne as Pops, Jenifer Lewis as Ruby, Peter Mackenzie as Mr. Stevens and Deon Cole as Charlie Telphy. Produced by ABC Studios, "black-ish" was created by Kenya Barris and is executive produced by Barris, Jonathan Groff, Kenny Smith, Anthony Anderson, Laurence Fishburne, Helen Sugland, E. Brian Dobbins, Gail Lerner, Courtney Lilly and Lindsey Shockley. Entering its fifth season on ABC, the series is also airing weeknights in national syndication.
