BLACK GOLD is described as "a modern-day Western set in a Dakotas boomtown that revolves around oil drilling and fracking."
Director Ponsoldt has recently helmed Spectacular Now and Smashed, and his next movie, The End of the Tour, about author David Foster Wallace, will hit theaters next year. Ponsoldt's TV credits include PARENTHOOD and Shameless.
Percy (pictured) has written two books of short stories -- Refresh, Refresh and The Language of Elk -- as well as two full-length novels -- Red Moon and The Wildling, both of which he is adapting for the screen. The Dead Lands, Percy's next novel, will hit the shelves in April.
