Bill Maher brings his hilarious stand-up show to screens this summer when he appears on stage live from Tulsa, Oklahoma in BILL MAHER: LIVE FROM OKLAHOMA. The special, his 11th solo special on the network, will air SATURDAY, JULY 7, exclusively on HBO.
"The paradox of my life is, the more horrifying the country under Trump becomes, the more fun we have at my stand-up shows - I guess it's a release, or whistling past the graveyard, or a primal scream," notes Maher. "They want me to be mean, and I am. Half of this show is about Trump, but I am determined to make half of it about me - my way of saying, 'Trump, you don't get to win!'"
Maher also hosts the weekly series "Real Time with Bill Maher," now in its 16th season on HBO. The show features his unique perspective on contemporary issues, and includes an opening monologue, roundtable discussions with panelists and interviews with guests. Debuting new editions Friday nights (10:00-11:00 p.m. live ET/tape-delayed PT), "Real Time" has already been renewed through 2020.
Bill Maher headlined his first special on the network in 1989 and has starred in ten HBO solo specials to date. He is also an executive producer of the innovative news magazine show "VICE," which is in its sixth season on HBO.
BILL MAHER: LIVE FROM OKLAHOMA is executive produced by Bill Maher, Beth McCarthy-Miller, Marc Gurvitz and Neal Marshall; directed by Beth McCarthy-Miller.
