Based on his hit Youtube series, BBC AMERICA's CHRIS HARRIS ON CARS offers Top Gear fans more time with breakout star and motoring journalist Chris Harris as he takes audiences on a ride across seven episodes throughout July and August. Premiering tonight, July 11, 9/8c, Chris gets behind the wheel to experiment and explore with the newest, fastest and coolest cars on the road.

Sarah Barnett, President of BBC AMERICA, stated, "Chris Harris on Cars is mischievous, insightful and downright entertaining; we think BBCA viewers will love it."

Chris Harris stated, "If wanton tire destruction, powerslides and continuous drooling over the world's fastest and most expensive road racers like the Porsche 911 GT3RS or the Aston Martin GT12 is your thing - you could do considerably worse than watch me put them through their respective paces on track and road on BBC America."

Chris Harris on Cars puts viewers behind the wheel of the best machinery on sale, and takes them into the technical complexities of these stunning vehicles. Profiling some of the most exciting cars on the planet and testing them on road and track, the series will cover cars such as the Porsche 911 GT3 RS, McLaren 650S, Aston Martin GT12, Ferrari 458 GT, Ferrari 458 Spider, among many others.

Launched on Youtube in 2014, Chris Harris on Cars has amassed over a quarter of a million subscribers and the content has been viewed over 20 million times. Chris began his career in motoring journalism at UK-based Autocar magazine, BECOMING their official road-test editor. He launched his website dedicated to fast cars in 2008, later joined Evo magazine and then became a member of the Pistonheads.com team, as well as a regular feature contributor on YouTube's DRIVE channel.

The series is distributed by BBC Worldwide.

In the latest season of Top Gear, Chris joined fellow hosts Chris Evans, Matt LeBlanc, Sabine Schmitz, Eddie Jordan, Rory Reid and The Stig as they drove over 7500 miles, undertook both on and off road challenges, tested the very latest cars and filmed in nine countries across four continents.

Today's news comes off the heels of BBCA's recent announcement regarding its upcoming premiere slate, as well as new development projects from Amy Poehler and Natasha Lyonne, and Neal Baer, and the producers of Top of the Lake, among others. The network is currently airing THE HUNT and Thirteen. Upcoming premieres include Undercover on November 17th, The Living and the Dead in Fall 2016, and Planet Earth II coming in Winter 2017. Recently announced special David Beckham: For the Love of the Game will premiere this summer.

The network's next original scripted project Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency starring Elijah Wood and Samuel Barnett, is currently in production and will premiere on October 22nd.

Created in 1998, BBC America is a HUB of innovative, culturally contagious programming like the ground-breaking un-scripted series Top Gear, the top-rated science-fiction phenomenon Doctor Who, and the fan-favorite Orphan Black. The influential network has been the launch pad for talent including Ricky Gervais, Gordon Ramsay, and Graham Norton - all adopted as American pop culture icons. A joint venture between BBC Worldwide (the commercial arm of the BBC) and AMC Networks, BBCA has attracted both critical acclaim and major awards including four Emmy(R) Awards, five Golden Globes(R) and 12 Peabody Awards. The irrepressible network has garnered one of cable's most curious, educated and affluent audiences, with many properties boasting super-fan levels of engagement. Available on cable and satellite TV, BBC America broadcasts in both standard and high-definition, is available On Demand across all major digital platforms and offers full episodes online at bbcamerica.com.
