BBC America and AT&T* U-verse TV announced today a renewal of their carriage agreement, which includes the launch of the award-winning channel in high definition. BBC AMERICA, which recently celebrated its best ratings quarter ever, will be available on AT&T's U-200 package on U-verse Channel 1188 in High Definition and continue to be carried on 188 in Standard Definition. On Nov. 19, it will move to Channel 1122 for HD and 122 for SD.

The deal was completed in time for BBC AMERICA's celebration of Doctor Who's 50th Anniversary in November. For the first time ever, the world's longest running and most successful sci-fi series will be broadcast simultaneously to millions of viewers worldwide in a global simulcast of the anniversary special, The Day of the Doctor, on Nov. 23. In addition, the channel will dedicate an entire week in November to its highest-rated series Doctor Who, including the new film that tells the story of the genesis of the iconic sci-fi series, An Adventure in Space and Time, marathons and new specials to be announced.

The channel's impressive slate includes the Peabody-winning series Doctor Who, the world's biggest car show, Top Gear, hit original series Orphan Black and Wild Things with Dominic Monaghan, award-winning drama, Luther, and critically acclaimed programs Broadchurch, Ripper Street and Burton and Taylor. BBC America announced last week a new lineup of premier natural history series highlighted by landmark series The Hunt, from multiple Emmy award-winning producer Alastair Fothergill, and One Planet, from Emmy award-winning producer Vanessa Berlowitz. Upcoming titles include a drama series about the creator of James Bond, Fleming: The Man Who Would Be Bond, action-adventure series Atlantis and The Musketeers, new original series Intruders and a new series based on New York Times bestselling novel, Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell.

"AT&T U-verse TV is delighted to continue carrying BBC America and offering the shows that we know our subscribers want," said Richard Levine, Vice President, Content, AT&T.

Sandy Ashendorf, EVP Network Distribution, BBC Worldwide, America, said: "We're having a record-setting year and are very pleased to continue and expand our relationship with AT&T U-verse. Now, subscribers will be able to experience in high definition, as the creators intended, Doctor Who's 50th Anniversary festivities, as well as our lineup of award-winning originals, landmark natural history series and the very best in British programming."

AT&T U-verse TV is the fastest growing TV provider in the U.S.** and U-verse is a nearly $12 billion annualized revenue stream in only seven years since its initial launch in 2006. AT&T U-verse TV was recently named Frost & Sullivan Video Company of the Year. For additional information on AT&T U-verse - or to find out if it's available in your area - visit www.att.com/u-verse.
