The company responsible for the distribution of the Atlas Shrugged trilogy, Atlas Distribution, announced today that they have acquired the North American distribution rights for their fourth film, Road to Capri starring Frankie Muniz, Academy Award Winner Virginia Madsen, Ian McShane, Franco Nero, Maria Grazia Cucinotta, and Nicolas Vaporidis.
The film is being produced by Max Czertok of EMovies, Boris Damast and Andrea Kikot of Mechanics and Rainstorm Entertainment. Executive Producers include Steven G. Kaplan and Daniel Zirilli of Rainstorm, Carol Bidault and Andrea Giannattasio from EMovies.
"Getting quality theatrical distribution in the United States is what every independent film wants. Atlas has an amazing track record and their ability to give Road individualized attention is exactly what we were looking for," said Czertok.
Road to Capri is a touching joy ride of a film about two young men, one American (Muniz) and one Italian (Nero), who are complete opposites. Unbeknownst to them, they have the same biological father. When their father dies, he leaves his home on the isle of Capri to his two sons - equally. Road to Capri is the literal and figurative journey of these two men coming to grips with one another and discovering who their father was.
Atlas Distribution Company founder and producer of the Atlas Shrugged trilogy, John Aglialoro said, "Road to Capri is a film that fits our distribution model perfectly. We are certain the film will have a successful run."
"We are presently in negotiations with Fox and Relativity regarding home video and television, respectively. There's a lot of excitement about Road's story, cast, and other elements surrounding the project so we couldn't be more excited," added Harmon Kaslow, President of Atlas.
Road to Capri is set to start principal photography June 30th, 2014 with theatrical release slated for the summer of 2015.
