Next-gen content creators Astronauts Wanted (a joint venture between Judy McGrath, former Chairperson/CEO of MTV Networks, and Sony Music Entertainment) announced today that the stylishly awkward late-night series TAWK with Awkwafina (AKA Nora Lum) will return for two new seasons starting early 2017 on go90. The cult hit series is recognized with a 2016 Streamys Award nomination.

"This new season of TAWK will be lit! I'm stoked to have this opportunity to bring new faces on the show for awesome awkward conversations you're not going to hear anywhere else," said Awkwafina. "It's gonna be dope!"

The Brooklyn-native rapper, comedienne, actress and rising star Awkwafina hosts TAWK. Astronauts Wanted first spotted Nora's unique voice several years ago through her self-styled and self-made UNDERGROUND comedic rap videos. Since then, she's become a regular on MTV's GIRL CODE and GUY CODE vs. Girl Code, and is part of the highly-anticipated blockbuster all female remake Oceans 8 with an A-list cast of women including Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Mindy Kaling and Rihanna. She also has an upcoming indie comedy Dude with Pretty Little Liars' Lucy Hale. Most recently, Nora appeared in the summer comedy hit film Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising opposite Seth Rogen and Zac Efron and released a hip-hop track Green Tea, co-written and performed with comedian Margaret Cho.

"TAWK fills a huge hole in the content landscape for smart, alternative, diverse voices talking about truly ridiculous s*it," said Nick Shore, Chief Creative Strategist, Astronauts Wanted. "And if there's a hole to fill, in my humble opinion, Nora is most definitely the one to fill it! So glad go90 is creating an environment where this kind of creative risk-taking and diversity of voice is actively encouraged."

The guest list is a mix of traditional stars and artists on the verge. Names include: singer-songwriter Jay Sean; comedian Nicole Byer (Loosely Exactly Nicole); actress Jamie Chung (Once Upon a Time, Gotham); actors Josh Peck (The Wackness, Grandfathered), Andy Milonakis (Adventure Time, The Andy Milonakis Show) and Mamoudou Athie (The Get Down); as well as social media stars GloZell Green (You Tube star) and Nicholas Megalis (Vine star), amongst other guests.

"We are pumped to have the TAWK crew returning for seasons 4 and 5 and with a loaded guest list at that," said Ivana Kirkbride, Chief of Content at go90. "Astronauts Wanted has been with us since launch and their focus on elevating their creators always makes for an awesome partnership."

Previous seasons featured a mix of talent that included Pete Davidson of SNL fame rapping in a supermarket about how stupidly tall he is, Laura Gomez and Abigail Savage from ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK failing miserably at a game of charades, iconic LA restaurateur Roy Choi making a sandwich in a Bushwick deli, comedian and Daily Show correspondent Hasan Minhaj ranting about the curse of Kim Kardashian on a G train, and Youtube star Lilly Singh dissing on farm animals at a house party.

go90 is currently delivering over 250 hours of exclusive original series from some of the industry's most talented and interesting studios and creators.
