Asian World Film Festival Announces Industry Panels

The 2nd Annual Asian World Film Festival, which runs from October 24 to November 1 in Culver City, is hosting the Asian World Industry Forum, which will include five panels featuring industry leaders as moderators and panelists. They will all be held in the Filmmakers Lounge in the Parisian Room in the Culver Hotel.

Film Financing | Tuesday, October 25, 11am - 1pm
Explaining the complex subject of global film financing will be Lindsay Connor of Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP; Bennett Pozil of East West Bank; Tim Kwok of Convergence Entertainment; Elizabeth Dell, producer and head of China Task Force, PGA; and Nick Sarkisov, Producer at Blitz Films. Moderator is D. Jeffrey Andrick of XL Ent Media Group.

Co-Productions & Cross-Cultural Collaboration - China Focus | Wednesday, October 26, 11am - 12:45pm
With a focus on China, a discussion on co-productions and cross-cultural collaborations will be held by panelists Christina Chou, Corporate Development Agent at CAA; Gary Kho, CTO & CMO of Wanda Studios Qingdao; Lindsay Conner, partner at Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP; Tomas Jegeus, President of FOX International Productions; Sarah Platt, Director of International Engagement and Outreach at Wanda Studios Qingdao and Bennett Pozilm of East West Bank. Rick Ambros, partner at Lightsource Asia Media Group & Benchmark Studios, will moderate.

Foreign Film Sales and Distribution | Thursday, October 27, 11am - 1pm
A panel on foreign film sales, moderated by Peter Belsito, film consultant Sydney's Buzz, will feature Jonathan Dana, Chief Marketing and Sales of CODE Entertainment; J. Todd Harris, producer and CEO of Branded Pictures Entertainment; Edward Noeltner, president of Cinema Management Group; Omar Kaczmarczyk, Managing Director at LongTale LLC; Ava B., CEO and president of House of Film; and Heejeon Kim, Marketing and Sales at CJ Entertainment.

PR, Marketing and Awards Campaigns | Friday, October 28, 11am - 1pm
Explaining the ins and outs of public relations, marketing and awards campaigns will be Henri Bollinger of Bollinger PR; Rick Markovitz, president of Weissman/Markovitz Communications; Nellee Holmes, a member of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association and publicist Tatiana Detlofson of MEDIAPLANpr. Peter Caranicas, Managing Editor of Features at Variety, will moderate.

Asian Women in Hollywood | Sunday, October 30, 3:30 pm - 5pm
The final panel will tackle the subject of Asian women in Hollywood. Presented by the Korean Film Council (KOFIC), the panelists will be announced at a later date.

As previously announced, the Asian World Film Festival will kick off Monday, October 24 with an awards presentation honoring Bambi artist Tyrus Wong and actor Justin Chon (The Twilight Saga). It will be followed by a screening of Ali and Nino from Academy Award®-winning director Asif Kapadia (Amy).
