Actor Arthur Marroquin delighted audiences of all ages last holiday season as the kind-hearted elf Hermey in McCoy Rigby's National Tour of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Musical.

Now, Marroquin continues to play a good-guy in two anticipated films premiering this August, including THE FAMILY drama, URBAN COUNTRY, and SyFy's newest SHARKNADO Week thriller, SANTA JAWS.

Releasing in limited theaters and VOD on August 3rd, Marroquin shines as the helpful ranch hand Corey in the coming-of-age film, URBAN COUNTRY, alongside Brighton Sharbino (The Walking Dead), Lou Diamond Phillips, Jason London and C. Thomas Howell. This self-discovery journey follows troubled city girl, Faith (Sharbino), after a sudden tragedy forces her to choose between a carefree and exciting life in the city or a hard-working, no-frills country lifestyle. Along the way, Corey (Marroquin) shows her the ropes and a romance blossoms as she learns who she really is and what she wants out of life.

Then on August 12th as part of SHARKNADO Week on the Syfy Network, Marroquin steps-in to help take down the beast that is SANTA JAWS. When Cody (Reid Miller) brings-to-life the fictional comic book character Santa Jaws, he turns to his big brother Josh (Marroquin) for help in destroying the shark before it sinks its teeth into the entire town and ruins Christmas.

Marroquin is thrilled to be hitting big and small screens this summer, adding "Both of these roles have been fun and exciting to play. You never know what's next in this business -- Corey works on a ranch with horses, and Josh plays baseball and fights Sharks during Christmas break. It's exciting to finally share them with audiences and I can't wait to make Santa Jaws a Christmas tradition in my family."

Then later this fall, Marroquin transforms into a bad-boy for the new horror film, HANDY DANDY. Hitting theaters in October, Marroquin plays the self-centered, ladies' man Rick in the horror feature, HANDY DANDY, starring horror veterans Bill Moseley and Bill Oberst, Jr. The film centers around a group of friends looking to turn a shuttered TV studio into a night club. They soon discover the studio is haunted by the past and looking for a new live (or dead) studio audience.

Previously, Marroquin has been building a solid reputation for his work on screen and stage. Fans will recognize him from the award-winning web series, Just Living: The Series, which he created, directed and stars, and is currently available on Amazon. He also gained attention for his appearance in Rooster Teeth's Lazer Team, the largest crowdfunded film ever.

A Texas native, Marroquin first began his acting career at Weslaco High School before earning his Bachelors of Arts in Theatre and Dance with a focus in Acting where he received the Marcia Gay Harden Scholarship.

In addition to acting, Marroquin has a passion and talented eye for photography. His photos have been published in THE WALL Street Journal and displayed at the Tony Awards. Today, he continues to shoot fashion, fitness and professional images for actors in Austin, New York City and Los Angeles.
