Ann Curry makes her debut appearance on ROCK CENTER WITH BrIan Williams with an exclusive report on Sudan and the atrocities that are taking place in the Nuba Mountains. Curry's report will also air on "Today" on Wednesday, February 29.

A new humanitarian crisis is unfolding in the Sudan. The same government that was accused of crimes against humanity and genocide in Darfur is now targeting black African tribes in the Nuba Mountains with bombing campaigns and widespread ethnic cleansing. Currently there are more than half a million people driven from their homes in the region.

The Sudanese government has cut off access to humanitarian aid and to journalists; in many ways it is a war being fought in silence. Ann Curry, who is one of a few reporters to make it into the Nuba Mountains, is escorted by Ryan Boyette, a Florida native who is married to a Nuba woman and who has lived in this region for 9 years. Boyette exposes Curry to the atrocities being committed – ones that the Sudan government is attempting to hide from the world.

ROCK CENTER features anchor and managing editor BrIan Williams and his all-star cast of correspondents Harry Smith, Kate Snow, Ted Koppel, Meredith Vieira, Natalie Morales, Richard Engel, Dr. Nancy Snyderman, Matt Lauer and Ann Curry. The show airs Mondays at 10 p.m.

Broadcast live from the historic Studio 3B in Rockefeller Center, the weekly, hour-long newsmagazine is built around the week's most provocative events, compelling coverage, and newsmaker interviews. Williams and NBC's trusted global news division take viewers deeper into the world's most talked-about stories -- and raise the curtain on stories begging to be told.

In addition to the weekly primetime broadcast, there are constantly evolving digital editions of "Rock Center with BrIan Williams" available online at RockCenterNBC.com and via the show's iPad app.
