After a seemingly unending stream of caucuses, attack ads, negative sound bites, and what feels like one-too-many debates, we don't think we're the only ones experiencing a little election-year fatigue.
Yet, there is still an important decision to be made in 2012. Animal Planet is asking the country to unite for Decision 2012: electing America's favorite pet. Will the Dog, Cat or Independent Party pull away with the win?
Thousands of Animal Planet fans have already submitted photos and videos of their pets, and we're polling the nation on such pressing issues as "Which party would win CUTEST if the election were held today?" and "Which party do you trust to keep you out of debt?" (incidentally, it seems the nation is somewhat wary of the feline party's fiscal policy). Results are viewable on a state-by-state level... afterall, it's important to know where your neighbors stand.
As much as we've tried to avoid it, some of the pet campaigns have turned negative and launched attack ads. And, while the election is still anyone's to win, some seem to be polling favorably - including Shelby the grape eating pig and "Cool Cat" Rupert. The deep disconnect between the Dog, Cat and Independent Parties continues to divide the nation, but it's hard to be cynical when presented with these candidates:
