Deadline reports that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's BY THE SEA will hit theaters on November 13, 2015 by Universal Pictures. The drama, which Jolie wrote and will direct, marks THE FIRST TIME the pair have starred together since 2005's MR. AND MRS. SMITH.
BY THE SEA follows "American writer Roland (Pitt) and his wife Vanessa (Jolie), who arrive in a tranquil and picturesque seaside resort in 1970s France, their marriage in apparent crisis. As they spend time with fellow travelers, including young newlyweds Lea (Melanie Laurent) and François (Melvil Poupaud) and village locals Michel (Niels Arestrup) and Patrice (Richard Bohringer), the couple begins to come to terms with unresolved issues in their own lives."
In addition to starring, Pitt joins Jolie in producing with INCEPTION's Chris Brigham and UNBROKEN's Holly Goline and Michael Vieira (Unbroken) as executive producers.
Jolie's directorial debut UNBROKEN premiered last winter. She last appeared on the big screen in MALEFICENT and before that, THE TOURIST, SALT, WANTED and more. She is producing the upcoming film AFRICA, which will star Pitt, and also backed IN THE LAND OF BLOODY AND HONEY in 2011, which she wrote and directed.
Pitt, as mentioned, will next be seen in AFRICA, as well as THE BIG SHORT. Among his recent film credits are FURY, THE COUNSELOR, 12 YEARS A SLAVE, WORLD WAR Z and more.
