According to Deadline, Angela Bassett will co-executive produce and star in Ben Ripley's legal drama "Vanishing Point" on NBC.

Deadline describes the show as "a character-driven legal franchise revolving around two women. One, played by Bassett, is a brilliant yet unsympathetic rainmaker at a powerful New York law firm whose world is suddenly and permanently upended by a health issue. Facing this crisis, she makes her condition public and vows to continue her practice with the help of a young brilliant attorney she chooses to be her right hand."
Bassett has appeared on Broadway in The Mountaintop and Joe Turner's Come and Gone, and Off-Broadway in Macbeth, Henry IV Part I and Black Girl. Her film credits include What's Love Got to Do with It, Malcolm X, Panther, The Rosa Parks Story, The Jacksons: An American Dream, Notorious, How Stella Got Her Groove Back and more. Bassett also joined the cast of ER for the show's final season. The actress will next appear in Olympus Has Fallen.
