WICKED'S Ana Gasteyer visited with Seth Rudetsky on Wednesday as a guest on his "Live on Broadway" radio show and shared some news about her upcoming role in the new ABC comedy, "Suburgatory", premiering this Fall. The actress, who describes her character as "a modern-day Gladys Kravitz", plays the obnoxious neighbor across the way. "They mentioned my character in the show's pilot and they say that I have recently had 14 fibroids removed and I was the town gossip!"
The new ABC comedy will air on Wednesdays at 8:30, in between the established comedies, "The Middle" and "Modern Family." "Suburgatory" tells the story of a single father, George, who only wants the best for his 16-year-old daughter Tessa, so he moves her out of their apartment in New York City to a house in the suburbs. "I did see the pilot and it's really a comedy with heart." says Gasteyer.
The actress spoke with Rudetsky about returning to television after taking a break from it the last few years. "It's going to be interesting," she explained. "It's so fast in TV. Everything's about getting it done and pulling it off and making sure you don't fail all the time. On SNL, you wrote it on Tuesday and you're performing it on Saturday and you're like ‘God, let me not fail' cause that's all you care about. And if you don't fail, you win, which isn't really quite a win."
Gasteyer will also be appearing in an upcoming episode of HBO's "Curb Your Enthusiasm" which will air this summer.
