Former Weekend Update anchor Amy Poehler will receive the 2013 Just for Laughs Comedy Person of the Year Award. The gala event, hosted by fellow SNL alum Seth Meyers, will take place on July 24th.

Along with Poehler, awards will be presented to Arrested Development creator Mitch Hurwitz as the festival's Comedy Writer of the Year and Kroll Show creator/star Nick Kroll as Breakout Comedy Star of the Year. Edgar Wright, the award-winning United Kingdom director of Shaun of the Dead, will also be presented with the Comedy Director of the Year honour at the awards show.

Just For Laughs comedy festival takes place in Montreal, July 10-28, 2013. Founded in 1983, the Just For Laughs Group's growth is concentrated on four major focal points: Festivals (in Montreal, Toronto, Chicago and Sydney); television production (most notably Gags seen in 135 countries and on 95 airlines); live shows (Canadian tour dates for Jerry Seinfeld, Jeremy Hotz, John Pinette, Louis C.K., the Capital One Just For Laughs Comedy Tour, North American dates for Family Guy Live!); and talent management.

Its inaugural Montreal Festival 29 years ago is now the world's largest and most prestigious comedy event welcoming 2 million people each summer. The Group has offices in Montreal, Paris, Los Angeles, Toronto, London and in Mark Zuckerberg's garage.
