FOX has announced it's winter line-up, which features the usual favorites, in addition to some new additions. American Idol will begin its ninth season on the network on January 12. The fan favorite will air in its usual slot, Tuesdays at 8:00pm. Also announced is that GLEE will button for the season on December 9, and move from its Wednesday, 9pm slot to Tuesday nights beginning April 13, 2010, opposite ABC's Lost. it will be a long wait for the Gleeks.
Upon its return, GLEE will get the coveted lead-in of American Idol, the top-rated show on television for the past seven years. GLEE will re-air after the live "Idol" performance show on April 9.
The remainder of FOX's winter season stays relatively consistent with the fall line up. New to the schedule is the new game show Our Little Genius, which airs post-"Idol" on Tuesdays. Additionally, the network will air a new drama, Past Life, on Thursday nights. Fringe will go on hiatus for the winter/spring and return on April 1. . FOX will also premiere a new season of "Kitchen Nightmares" on Fridays after Dollhouse completes its run. Other additions include "Human Target," and "Sons of Tucson."
The eighth season of 24 gets its usual two-night, four-hour premiere on Jan. 17 and 18, and will air on Mondays at 9pm starting January 25.
Lie to Me has been picked up for a second time and will return to the network in the late spring. The 20th anniversary celebration of The Simpsons, will air January 10, marking the show's 450th episode.
