According to Variety, Amazon's television division is currently developing a series based on the World War 2 sports film "A League of Their Own."
According to the report, the series penned by Mozart in the Jungle's Will Graham and BROAD CITY comic, Abbi Jacobson, will be a modern take on the story of the Rockford Peaches, one of the teams that made up the first season of the 1943 All-American Girls Professional Baseball League.
The series is said not to be a close adaptation of the hit 1992 film and is not expected to feature characters from the movie.
Sony Pictures Television would produce the series. According to the report, writers have been assembled for the project. No official deals have been announced.
Directed by Penny Marshall, A League of Their Own was a hit 1992 sports drama starring Geena Davis, Rosie O'Donnell. Madonna, and Tom Hanks.
