Variety reports that Amazon Prime Video in the U.K. has greenlit a new period fashion drama to be titled THE COLLECTION. The project, from "Ugly Betty" showrunner Oliver Goldstick, has been commissioned by Amazon and BBC Worldwide from producer Lookout Point.

THE COLLECTION will be an eight-part series which takes place in the world of French haute couture following World War II."

The series was created, written and executive produced by Goldstick. Anne Thomopoulos ("Rome," "Borgia," "Versailles") and Kate Croft ("Murderland") will also serve as executive producers.

According to the site, the series will center on "an illustrious Paris fashion house, emerging from the dark days of the Occupation, now ushering in a new golden age of design and business." Amazon says the family drama will "expose the grit behind the glamour and the treachery beneath the trappings of this empire, and all who work there."
